They had not prepared my room yet when I came at 2:15 pm. After around 10 mins, they gave me a Double room instead of a Twin one as booked. They again told me to wait for the Twin room 😏 When I asked how long the wait would be, I needed to do some things in my room before going out at 3 pm. They said, "KEEP WAITING, IT'S NO USE ASKING, THE ROOM IS JUST NOT READY AND I DONT KNOW HOW LONG!!" They said my attitude was bad and didn't want to serve me (although I used honorific words in all my questions) 🙄🙄 "YOU COULD CANCEL IF YOU WANT. YOUR BOOKING IS SO CHEAP THUS WE DON'T NEED" 🙂 NO SORRY AT ALL!! ALL THEY SAID TO ME WAS TO INFORM ME I left the hotel and asked for a refund through Traveloka, but the hotel didn't agree, which means they still wanted my meagre money even when they didn't want to serve me 😏 That's fine I paid them, but people should know about this terrible hotel !! 😏😏

HANOI SUNSHINE HOTEL, UNDER THE DARKNESS OF STAFFS DECEPTIONS TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, This is my first time travelling to Hanoi, Vietnam. The flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Hanoi, Vietnam, was fantastic. Just to let you know, I did stay at Hanoi Sunshine Hotel. This hotel is situated in the Hoàn Kiếm District in a region called Hàng Gai. The address of this hotel is:- Hanoi Sunshine Hotel, 18 P. Hàng Hòm, Hàng Gai, Hoàn Kiếm, Hanoi, Vietnam. The hotel is cheap and plentiful. However, the staff and concierge have poor behaviour and are liars. When I arrived, they asked the taxi pick-me-up to go to a different gate. The concierge never informed me about the changes. I had to call the hotel and frantically search for the pick-me-up driver. Ultimately, I needed to make a commotion so someone could hear me. They offered me Room 704 on the 7th floor, with no access by the hotel's elevator that only reached the 6th floor. Initially, I declined to stay on the seventh floor because it was inaccessible by the hotel's lift, and I had to drag my bags one flight of stairs with my injured knees. The concierge tourist staff did try to impress me by taking my bags and showing the Room 704. I saw that the room was nice, big, and decided to take the room instead. However, I did ask for a single King or Queen size bed in my comments to them. Instead, they had placed two single beds together to make them look like a King or Queen size bed. By the way, I didn't realise that until I slept on the bed. I didn't want to complain anymore because I thought that since everyone realised Before the 2.5 years pandemic, I did not want to emphasise a minor issue. Everything was fantastic from Friday, July 1st to Tuesday, July 5th. Then, suddenly on Tuesday, July 6th, the 5G internet on the 7th floor became inaccessible. The only internet access was the 2.4G internet. This was slow, and when many guests were accessing the internet. Moreover, if a guest or individual in the hotel is doing conferencing, having an online discussion, or online assignment, a 2.4G internet will diminish all possibilities; sometimes, the screen and even audio will just die out in the process. I had repeatedly told the hotel staff about the need for 5G internet, and they nonchalantly heeded my demands. As I had a Chinese HSK 3-1 examination online on July 6th, my HP laptop was not working because online conferencing requires 5G internet. So, throughout the exam, I had to hold close the phone to my ear to hear the questions (for the listening part). For the most part, I had to switch to my active mobile internet, roaming from Malaysia. It was a surreal experience, and I was glad my teacher (the examiner) was understanding. That partially resolved the crisis. Beforecomplain the exam (that I had done in the hotel room), I stressed the importance to the hotel staff about the 5G internet availability. But they didn't care or defiantly refused to heed my instructions. Until I left, they were ignorant about my problems, and I kept insisting on the 5G internet availability. Every time they just obliged to fix it but never did. They refused, perhaps because the concierge tourist staff didn't get me to take up some of her tour packages. Then, that begs the question? Why are they insistent on this trouble? Did they try to make me comfortable so that they wanted to coax me to take tourism packages? They didn't even know my purpose in Hanoi. First, to ensure I pass my exam with flying colours, and second, to look-see Hanoi for my taste. And that's another bad thing they kept harassing about me going to good restaurants at a 5-Star hotel. I kept telling them my stomach was not healthy enough for raw street Vietnamese food cooked by the roadside. Of course, they couldn't understand a foreigner's concern for healthy cooked food. On the last day, before the checked-out time at noon, the concierge lady called me to tell me that she had booked a taxi to the airport. After I made the payment, the taxi scheduled to pick me up wasn't there, another deception. They (simply) pointed to another taxi for another guest going to another place. While waiting for them to call for another taxi, I became frustrated with their deceptions and mentioned that I would provide the Hanoi Sunshine Hotel with a lousy review. That infuriated the concierge hotel staff, who insisted the hotel would refund me for the trouble. I refused because my credit card was charged.☹️☹️☹️,

We moved, after 1 night, for a better place and less expensive. So price is not the main issue here. Cleanness is. The hotel facilities are very POOR and the room was VERY DIRTY. All the photos posted here and in Booking.com are a real scam, as you can see from my photos dated from 11.12.2020. The breakfast not bad and the staff was friendly, but didn't do much to solve our problems. Hence, I am giving 2 and not 1.

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was located in the centre of town so no noise in room. The room was clean and air con and WiFi available. The staff were extremely friendly and helped with sightseeing itinerary and onward bookings. Breakfast was also included and vegetarian options available.

We booked this place through the third party company that probably most of you know ;) The price was very reasonable and included transport from the airport. Nice touch when you flying overnight. Hotel is located in the city centre of Hanoi. Close to the lake and the famous railway track. Rooms are spacious and very clean. We also had a great city view staying in the 6th floor. Everyday when we planned our day the staff was there to asisst us with the planning giving us advice, maps and tips on how to budget travel. Breakfast was really nice with good selection of dishes. Would deffo recommend to anyone. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact the property, they can speak english without any problem.

The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and very helpfull, but the facilities are in very poor conditions. After spending two nights here we changed to a much better hotel within the same price range, so you can definitely get a better value for money. I won’t come back

The staff are very friendly and the room is clean but that’s about all. The room was in a very poor condition and looks nothing like the one in the photos (I only took one photo). The door lock was broken, the toilet paper holder had fallen off the wall, the lights did not work properly, it was noisy (even though our room was not on the street side) and three of our shirts were died purple when used the hotel’s laundry service. We’ll not stay here again and do not recommend this place (at least for the price they charge)

This hotel does not deserve even 2 star. The staffs were helpful but hotel was very old. It needs to be renovated. The room was not clean enough. They sell the room with window but without sun light and air. That kind room has to include more explanation but there wasn't any info when I reserved it. I have claustrophobia. That's why I reserved a room with window but I didn't know that window was just opposite of wall and there was only 30 cm between wall and window. That night was a nightmare because there was not availibility for the room with real window. The other night I went to cruise trip to not to stay in that room again.

Excellent area to stay in because it's right at the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Prices are very good, and the staff are excellent and attentive. However, the shower stall would flood, and there were broken switches for the lights, and the windows couldn't be fully closed.

We booked a standard double room but when we arrived the pictures looked nothing like the ones on booking.com. The air conditioner is placed over the head of the bed so it drips on you when you sleep. It's a very tight squeeze to fit 2 people in even though it's a double room. We mentioned this to staff who said that because we booked the cheapest room that's what happens and that they had a good photographer who makes the room look bigger. Breakfast is also below average. Shower wasnt clean with some rust showing and tiles missing on the floor.
