We came across this family-run hotel as we ate at The Sky Gallery (which happens to be owned by the relatives). Cosy Beach has given us everything we need - a spacious room with a bathtub and the sea view, a great vibe which we feel at ease and rest our mind, a good restaurant which supply great foods so we don't have to go out (well, except we walk to the Sky Gallery which is next-door just for a change) ; plus I got a wonderful massage here. Basically, Cosy beach hotel is the answer to our call. We enjoy almost all day at the hotel pool overlooking the calm sea and we don't even bother to go out at all.
I visited this hotel at least once a year for the last 5 years taking my elderly mum to stay at the pool-access room at the 8-fl hotel building. Staff are always attentive and helpful. Last week I was so surprisingly impressed that the hotel provided a small kit with face masks and hand sanitizer to guests upon check-in. It helped us enjoy the holidays even more knowing that the hotel cares about the health and well-being of its customers esp during this pandemic time.
We (my son and me) had two family deluxe rooms in higher floor, with absolut stunning views of the sea and Koh Larn. Cosy Beach hotel is just near "The Sky gallery" restaurant with great places over the sea and "The chocolate factory restaurant". The breakfast is acceptable, but the so called gym is absolutely unreasonable, terrible ! No working bike, no machines....their gym is only a name, maybe because they can advertise with it, The pool is ok. Cosy beach is a little outside Pattaya City, if you want to go to Pattaya you'll have to take a taxi.
We paid 55 pounds per night for a ocean view room and to be honest it was probably worth about 25 pounds per night. When we arrived we were told by reception that we had been given a free upgrade so I was looking forward to seeing the room Unfortunately the upgrade was just a single bed had been put in the room, the room wasn't very clean in my opinion .The tv must have been about 25 years old and only had 1 English channel which was BBC world news. The wifi didn't work unless you went down to reception. I only had breakfast on the first day as everything was cold, and cold fried eggs and cold sausages don't work for me and I think it gave me a bad stomach . On the plus side of the hotel the views from the room were fantastic and the pool is nice I don't think i would stay here again unless they spent some money on it and they're not difficult thing's to put right …
The hotel was alright. I booked Deluxe Seaview through Agoda but when i went for check in, they did not have the booking. And it was new year's eve. The manager said the seaview were fully booked. Offered me to stay in new wing for one night and he said he will change me to seaview the next day. Which was fair enough. He handled it pretty well. Gave me a nice room on the new wing (which was still partially seaview). Then next day he changed me to a proper seaview on the old wing. The room on the old wing were old. The room on the new wing were nicer. Just one day before departure, i had gone to the reception to arrange a taxi to Bangkok for next day. The receptionist asked me to come back in the evening as he had to make calls to few drivers. I said fine and went off. In the evening, i was greeted by a Bellman (Concierge). This guy helped me with my luggage on the check in day and i tipped him 40 baht. So when he greeted me, i was happy to see him again. He asked me when i am checking out and i said tomorrow. He asked if i needed a taxi and i said how much. He said it will cost me 2,000 baht to Bangkok. I told him, i paid 1,300 from Bangkok to Pattaya. He then told me its New Years time and its very hard to get drivers. He said he can do 1,500 baht. I said ok but first let me check with the reception (as i spoke to receptionist earlier in the day) and went to the reception to look for the same guy. The receptionist asked me to follow him and took me straight to the same bellman i spoke a minute ago. But this time, the bellman was not happy as i rejected his offer for taxi. I said 1,500 is fine with me but he did not want to arrange any transport for me. I asked him why is he so angry? I just wanted to double check prices before i confirm. He did not reply and walked away. The receptionist did not know what to do or how to react. Receptionist asked me to search for car companies online by myself as he now doesn't know who to contact. This type of reaction by the bellman is found all over Thailand and its sad to see they are not being professional. Tourists/Guests spends and helps the Thai economy and deserve to be treated well. Do not rip them off at every opportunity. I ended up using Grab App to book a car and costs me 2,200 baht to Bangkok. I was happy to pay this amount and not deal with the hotel staffs again. Also the beach is about 5 mins walk down from the hotel. The hotel is located on a cliff and to get to the beach, you need to take stairs down from the swimming pool.…
