We stayed as group , 3 friends stayed in this hotel and booked 3 rooms . Date : June 08 to June 10 , 2019.

We booked this hotel before 1 month in makemytrip.com and paid full amount and mention in the comments section to the hotel that We need nearby rooms , We sent email to the hotel management and asking the same , they sent the reply that we try . We again sent email asking for the same floor . There is no reply from the management .

We reached the hotel on June 08 , 2019 and hotel staff told that there is no near by rooms and two rooms were on Floor 8 th and one room on Floor 7th . We told them that we already informed , booked before 1 month and paid . Please note it down , we already paid the whole amount . the cancellation option was closed before 1 week . Do not understand what is the problem in giving the rooms in same floor ? I really surprised .

Another surprise is following , when we told them that we booked before 1 month and paid , hotel staff started shouting . It is like LK Empress given
us money for staying and shouting to us ? First teach your staff "Who is customer ?" , "How to handle the customer ? " .

We accepted and move to room , no one come with us to bring the luggage , come to the room and guide what is there and explain about the room facilities .
This is the first hotel in my life I have seen this kind of behavior . Did you give us room for free ?

The experience of the check out is different , we can no talk , they started shouting . I am very afraid about their staff .
Service is zero and the hotel staff rude , do not know who is customer . feel like they are king to you , given rooms for free , So listen carefully whatever they are telling and do not speak.

Now come to good points .

Hotel location is good , room is spacious , room is clean , bathroom is clean . We felt really good in staying in the room .
Another surprise , next day they cleaned the room and serviced the room with new towels etc . I am very surprised .

Please please please do not shout to your customers , treat us as customers .

I want to stay in your hotel next time , but afraid .

I booked the LK Empress for our first ever visit to Thailand as a birthday treat for my wife’s 40th birthday. I booked 2 studio rooms not realising what the view was so called ‘city view’, therefore l emailed LK Empress to kindly request a seaview room for my wife’s special birthday but never got a response from them. On our late arrival to the hotel l explained the request to the unfriendly, unsmiling and unwelcoming male receptionist, who denied any acknowledgement of the email l had sent months before, until l showed him it on my phone. He very rudely refused any upgrade, (which wasn’t expected but would have been professional to email a reply stating no availability, atleast). We proceeded to our rooms followed by a porter who crammed 8 pieces of luggage into the lift on top of us. The porter hung around waiting for a tip (as we later discover that Pattaya is ‘tip town’ and people are not embarrassed to ask for it either). However he then went to my children’s room and shockingly asked my 17 year old for a tip aswell, which my son gave him.
The rooms were nicely decorated, with lovely bathrooms, however there was hair on the floor and bugs everywhere. The balcony was tiny and the view was horrible, especially when we were staying there for six nights. Despite spraying mosquito repellents on myself and all around the room, my family and l wear bit. Myself having the worst bites all over my body. We were disturbed by the loud construction work every morning going on opposite the hotel and by noisy neighbours. Screaming children, slamming doors constantly. When asked to be moved, reception staff offered us a worse room which was closer to the construction work at the back of the hotel, which they knew we would not accept. They kept telling us that the hotel was fully booked unless we wanted to pay for an upgrade, however when l agreed to paying for an upgrade they still wouldn’t give us it. LK Empress has a depressing, seedy and unwelcoming ambiance. The unfriendly staff made our stay unbearable, we couldn’t wait to leave. Breakfast was ok, the egg station being the best thing in the hotel and Tukky l think her name is, was the most pleasant member of staff in the hotel. Restaurant staff were okay. A young man at the concierge desk was the only helpful member of staff in the LK. He spoke and understood English well. Only seen him there once. The LK Empress is opposite the beach on ‘ Beach rd’ in south Pattaya which may aswell be a red light district. I would not recommend this hotel for families, it’s more suited for men only. I wish we had stayed up the road in north Pattaya where it may have been more family friendly. Tiger park was a good experience as was the Sanctuary of truth. 2 must sees in Pattaya. Taxi drivers in Pattaya will refuse to use their meter soo be prepared to get a few quotes when using them. Tuk tuks are more reasonable, however ask a few for prices before going with the first one, if you want to save a few hundred baht per trip.

The LK Empress has a nicely decorated reception area and restaurant. However please don’t be fooled by the appearance of this as the reception staff ( Assawin & Peangpen) are the most unwelcoming and rude receptionists that my family and l have ever experienced and we have travelled to many countries around the world. The porter apparently called Bom, decided to squash our 8 pieces of luggage into the same small lift as the 4 of Us, to take up to our room. My husband tipped him as he hung around in our rooms for ages and wouldn’t leave, but then he had the cheek to go and ask my teenage son for a tip aswell in the other room (so my son tipped him with his own spending money), when we had already given him one. We had booked 2 studio rooms which had nice bathrooms and all the amenities one can require. The iron and hairdryer are not great. The rooms were in the third building at the back of the hotel, with a horrible side view of a empty hotel and a construction site, which disturbed us every morning from 5/6 a.m. if that weren’t bad enough, there was an extended family staying in all the rest of the rooms on our floor (9th), who’s children would bang the doors and run up and down the corridor screaming. When we politely requested to be moved to different rooms away from the noise (as we had come to relax and rest on holiday) we were told that there wasn’t any rooms available and that we would have to ask the following day. So we did, only to be shown 1 room which was closer to the construction going on next to the hotel. If we had accepted the room we would have been on a different floor to our children’s room which was obviously not acceptable. We then went back to reception and asked if there was any possibility of an upgrade to better rooms, and were told that we would have to pay for the upgrade which we was willing to do, but Assawin said something in Thai to Peangpen, for her to tell us that apparently there was no rooms available, which was unbelievable. We went away extremely disappointed as by now we hadn’t slept for a few nights. The staff were very unhelpful. We asked for a manager to contact us, as whenever we asked for one there wasn’t one available conveniently. We were never contacted by one either. The whole ambience of this hotel is depressing. My family and l hated staying here. The location is opposite the beach in south Pattaya however no one has mentioned on trip adviser that south ‘beach road’is full of prositututes mostly in the evening but during the day too and is not an appropriate place for families. We had to experience men of all ages but especially old men, bringing in young prostitutes to the LK Empress which the hotel obviously allowed. We were disguisted by this and l wish that we knew this before we spent our hard earned money on booking and looking forward to this holiday. A horrible experience and stay at the LK Empress. I have read reviews about the reception staffs appalling attitude and behaviour before but thought l’d take it with a pinch of salt, big mistake. This doesn’t obviously bother management either as nothing has been done about the staff. We would never return or recommend this hotel. Taxi drivers will not use there meters in Pattaya so that they can rip you off. So be careful, get a few quotes on beach rd, not from the hotel as they charge you a few houndred bhat more. Tukky (lady on the egg station) at breakfast was the only member of staff who was pleasant and nice to us in this hotel. The porter so called Bom (youngest looking porter) held up a sheet of pictures of naked women with numbers, to my husband as we both walked towards him for excursion information. I was so shocked at this, that l ran back up to my room in despair. Stay away.

I had a room in tower 2 next to elevator. Internet was awful! When I say awful, I mean really bad.

The highlight was the free breakfast I got with the room. It was very good.

I would try to get a room with better internet, if you can!

The hotel was very nice. My problem is that they advertised my room as "City View", and the view was at the side of another larger building about 30 feet away. Clearly false advertising. I could see nothing other than the side of the building. I therefore asked for an upgrade with "Sea View" which they gave me but charged an extra $300 which I agreed to. I paid cash for the upgrade, and got a receipt with stamp in red ink saying "PAID". Upon checkout, they said I needed to pay for the upgrade. I showed them the receipt with "PAID" in red ink and they insisted that I still owed the $300. What choice did I have? I was in a hurry to catch my international flight, and knew they would have called the police had I not paid. How could any court in any land not judge in my favor with a receipt with their stamp on it in red indicating "PAID"? Had the police been called I am sure I would have been detained just long enough to miss my flight. In order to not miss my flight I paid the additional $300. What happened to the $300? Did it go into the pocket of the guy at the counter?

the hotel has a big lobby but the hotel lobby temperature was warm. it helps that my friend speaks thai and made our check in a lot smoother. rooms are big, airconditioning good. the big ornate chair's upholstery is dirty. their bathroom lighting is inadequate, too many harsh shadows. bathtub is not clean. its obvious the hotel room is refurbished but the painters were not thorough. bad paint job can be seen on the door jambs and on some other parts of the room. beds are on the soft side but comfortable.

it seems the hotel are two building interconnected with each other. the owners should put signages to help guests with directions to room locations and signs pointing to where the elevators are.

the sauna and pool is good. the gym is good sized, but no airconditioning! it was hot in the gym.

I stayed there with my wife for four days 15-19th april 2014 booked a hotel mini bus and paid over the odds {800 Bht each}because we wanted a hotel direct to resort in Koh Chang what we got was a moody driver who broke many road laws. We arrived at the port he then said we had to get out after paying for our tickets. my Thai wife was quite angry at this and had to make him carry 2 large suitcases on board he then left us to fend for ourselves. I repeat this was not what we paid for, we both feel cheated. The hotel was only ok for the price, it was worth no more than 1500 Bht per night. The reception and one waiter where miserable and surley. There are much better hotels to stay at mucher cheaper prices. My advice is never to stay there or you will be full of regrets. I mailed them twice about the travel but did not get the courtesy of a reply

This is my second time stay, before I start with the reivew I have to mention that my first visit of this hotel was fantaitic. Upon check in, front desk tell me that my room was fully booked so they free upgrade my room and provide nice service all the way until my check out.

It was extremely impressive, that's why I decided to visit here again even I met fully booked once.

However this second time visit is a bit disappointed.

Up on check in, everything seems to be find, I was happy that I didn't hear any surpise again(fully book), I get my key card and move to room (even though there is no one from hotel come to carry my bags), I was still feel good with the hotel. However when I stand in front of my room, I found that the door was opening and full of staff in my room and clean up the room. I understand Thai languages:" some of the staffs even said that oh, the guest is coming, how come!" ok, come on, I should said that how come front desk allow me to come to the room while house keeping still doing the things.

Then we move down and speak with front desk as my room is not ready! Front desk immediately called up the housekeeper and ask what happen, again (they thought I don't understand Thai), the conversation was like the housekeeper is repairing the door and stuff inside the room but without report to Front desk . Then Front desk hang up, said to me " they are prepare your Extra bed, Sir",ok, you thought I am fool and still trying to cover housekeepers and said something different to me. I ask how long you will take? FD said 10 mins, BTW by that time it already 4 PM (2 hours after standard check in time 2 PM) which means everything should already be ready to use even previous guest late check out!

Move on, we waited and finally get into the room, We were surpised again that all room amentites comes for double occupancy while I booked for 3 adults. FD is well notice about this as they give me 3 adults' voucher for breakfast. But again housekeeper seems like totally missed up! I then call for room service, room service push me to house keeper, called house keeper, never pick up my calls, I then have to call to front desk again. Front desk apologied and asked housekeeper immediately send stuff to my room!

We didn't go for hotel managers coz we thought ok this is only for 1 night stay, we can take it.

Overall, the room is still good (but definetely needs to have big repair as I found many places are broken). Bathroom is good, but hot water system may has problem as the Hot water was not supported stablely , some times it will gone and only cold water in.

Breakfast is cool. Location of course is best for this hotel.

Overall, valueable hotel and could to stay! But I am now questioning myself, will I book here again for coming songkran festival????
