We really enjoyed our stay at this nice and extremely comfortable hotel. We booked the two bedroom unit and it worked perfect for our family. Clean, comfortable beds, air conditioning and plenty of space. Along with being comfortable, the service was warm and attentive. The front desk was always helpful (great recommendations on where to eat) and the breakfast staff even made us a special dish on our last day. Our friends recommended this hotel and we would also recommend it.
Firstly this hotel is picturesque, has lovely grounds and open spaces and in a great location. Lots of bars, restaurants and shops nearby for anything you need. Also so well located for walking distance to things. Good size rooms, clean and have traditional thai vibes which was nice - my only gripe was the shower pressure was dreadful in our room (we had 4 rooms for our group two had fantastic pressure (211 & 212) closer to the main hotel space and two had rubbish pressure (216 & 217) further away from the main hotel space so assuming its a distance thing?). Lots of mosquitos though from the water garden but hotel staff would spray the room for you! Staff were fantastic and really helpful throughout the stay. Breakfast was pretty basic… no western cooked breakfast options but had a buffet ‘help youraelf’ style eggs, toast, fruit, precooked waffles, cereal and juice. So it was decent enough. Pool was honestly fantastic, two pools the main one that has sun all day and a small plunge style that gets sun for half of the day. The pool furniture was tired and only has 7/8 loungers which isn’t enough, you might get a wooden chair if you are also lucky. More loungers could fit around the pool, after all its big enough and thats what people want to relax on. The biggest and only real let down was the lack of restaurant - no food options after breakfast, whilst evening times you can of course eat out, it would have been nice to have a pool bar for lunch snacks/ drinks. It does have a lovely pool bar area it just seemed closed - maybe this is due to covid? But the hotel was pretty busy! Would I stay there again? Absolutely.…
I stayed 5 nights in this hotel. This is located in the old city so almost everything (including restaurants/cafés) you want to visit are within walking distance. The room was very spacious, had a spacious balcony (also had a small laundry drying rack) and AC unit was noiseless and functional. Room had a very comfortable bed, reasonable size desk and small dedicated area for making tea/coffee. Bathroom had a spacious shower area and a large round bathtub. Hot water system was perfect. Some days I had breakfast (was not included in the room price) at the hotel but nothing special about it to mention. The view from the balcony of the room overlooking the garden and water features were very nice. You may need mosquito repellants if you want to sit outside on the balcony in the evening/night. Pool was great and towels were provided. My first day experience was somewhat disappointing. When I entered the room, it was full of mosquitos and I had to ask the reception clean the room properly which they did promptly. The day I checked in, I found that the reception staff couldn't give me the impression of Thai friendliness and helpfulness. But this changed completely when I had to get my pre-departure Covid PCR test done (compulsory to enter some countries). Upon my request hotel organised this and the Lab (mobile unit) came to the hotel and did the test. Although the results certificate was supposed to come on the same day/next day morning, it never came and time was running out. At this point, the reception staff did everything to get my test results certificate. They called the lab/hospital (I suppose) multiple times (almost every 10-15 minutes) just like it is something personal for them. Ultimately the lab delivered (personally) the certificate (luckily the test was negative!!) and I was able to go to the airport in time. This is all about a great customer service. Again a big thank to the reception staff.…
This hotel suffered by comparison. I have previously spent 10 days at both the Thai Akara Lanna Boutique Hotel, as well as at the Makkachiva. Both of those properties were excellent. The grounds of this hotel are nice; the rooftop pool is nice; and my favorite spot is the sitting room adjacent to the pool. I was very disappointed at the level of service at this property. I have been spoiled by Thailand, where I have experienced such lovely and genuine warmth. Not at this hotel, save for three gentlemen. Bond, Palm, and Aum, at reception, were all as kind as could be. The rest of the staff, no. I wonder if there is a morale problem with the hotel staff, as I felt actual unfriendliness from several staff members. No greetings, no smiles. Not what I expect in “the land of smiles.” The room was acceptable except that the lighting was very poor. As said in the heading, if I could give a 3.5-3.75 I would. I felt the Bodhi Serene to be similar to an Ibis property. The hotel is perfectly acceptable: good, but no more than that. All things being equal, I would stay at a different property in the future.…
A 6 day stay at Bodhi Serene was quite nice. We had a very nice room overlooking the pleasant central garden. Breakfast was ok but not as expected for this hotel. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is within the old city but still very quiet. Not having even one English tv channel was a bit disappointing.
Our 5 night stay in Bodhi Serene was everything that we hoped for. A quiet, unassuming hotel within the old city that’s walking distance to many of the temples and markets of town. The two bedroom apartment was wonderful, set back from the main road and gave us a real ‘home away from home’ vibe. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom functional (although could do with a renovation). The pool is fabulous. Cool, but just the thing for hot afternoons. A few small improvements could help - we asked for another room key (only provided one) and were told a brisk ‘no’. The pool area often did not have towels so we had to find staff to help us. Although there was a kitchenette in our room, there was just the one bowl, plate and spoon - seemed a bit ridiculous to not at least provide a few more basic utensils? The breakfast was quite underwhelming - the bread was sweet, and the coffee tasteless. We decided to skip it and walk to the local cafes each day. But these are minor things, and I’d happily recommend this hotel for people who want a quiet place to stay in the city. Really good value for money too.…
My one month stay at Bodhi Serene was wonderful. I enjoyed every minute of it. Very friendly and helpful staff, great facilities and excellent service. A very peaceful place inside the Old City of Chiang Mai. The location is perfect. Less than 10 minute walk to the night market, Tha Phae Gate, and numerous historic temples. There are many restaurants and cafes within a five minute walk of the hotel. The swimming pool and sitting areas are perfect for relaxing. They overlook the beautiful gardens of the hotel. Breakfast is served in a covered sitting area that lets you enjoy the birds and gardens. Very enjoyable indeed.
Many years ago my wife and I travelled up to CM from our home in Bangkok and we were delighted to find this boutique hotel hidden away in the old town. Fast forward to Christmas 2020, Covid, 2 kids and a little chilly but still a lovely place from which to plan your daily forays into the North. A few little adjustments because of the plague but still a fantastic little place with lovely staff and a great atmosphere.
Had a wonderful stay at this truly boutique resort in the heart of the Old City at Chiang Mai.... it’s within walking distance to nearly every where.... the team members are helpful, very attentive and friendly. The room is clean, spacious and good size balcony you can just sit back and relax, enjoying the serenity. Nice lounge area next to the pool which you can read or enjoy a cup of coffee doing nothing..... definitely will be back, thanks to every team member.
This hotel is definitely suffering from the lack of tourists and unfortunately the guests also suffer. No restaurant facilities other than breakfast which is a sad affair. Also limited TV channels. We stayed here 11 years ago when it was a proper boutique hotel. Sadly they have expanded and it no longer has that special feeling. Came back for one night and asked for a "garden" room. Although I was given one it was 117 with no view whatsoever. As there were very few guests I think they could have done better in terms of client satisfaction. Also annoying fridge did not work and no plug for lovely bath tub. Will no stay here again.
