We arrived at this little hotel at the end of January and stayed 5 nights, into early February. We wanted to stay in the "old city" portion of Chiang Mai and were very happy with this location. The hotel is within easy walking distance of several temples and many good restaurants. It is also quite close to the main shopping street which also turns into an extremely active street market on Sunday nights. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and could not have been more helpful throughout our stay. They were quite cautious and sensitive to the coronavirus issue and took great precautions to insure the safety and cleanliness of our environment. The included breakfast was always fresh and delicious and offered both western and asian food options. We took several early morning tours and the staff was always willing to provide us with an early breakfast and/or a "to go" meal. The room was small, but very comfortable, private, quiet and safe. We were undecided on how to get from Chiang Mai to Lampang, the next stop on our itinerary. The front desk staff was very helpful in resolving this dilemma. Given the virus issue, they felt that we should avoid the crowds on the public bus system. Instead, they arranged through their contact, "Chuti", to have a private car pick us up at the hotel and transfer us to our next hotel in Lampang. The driver was excellent, her car was new and immaculate, and the 90 minute trip was very nice. The ride to Lampang cost us US$50 and was very safe and comfortable. I would definitely stay at Bed Phrasingh again and I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

We absolutely loved our stay at BED Phrasing. It's rare to find a hotel where they truly treat you like family. At Bed, the staff genuinely care about guests and go above and beyond to be helpful and kind. I took my friends here during their first trip to Asia, and we stayed at Bed 5 nights. Dick's birthday was right in the middle of our stay and since he loves elephants and we were planning to volunteer with rescued elephants that day at one of Elephant Nature Park's Saddle Off programs, I asked the Bed staff if they could help me find a place to make a surprise birthday cake with elephants on it. Much to my surprise, the Bed chef made the cake herself, and it was absolutely beautiful with handmade chocolates made to look like elephant heads! They wouldn't accept any payment. They said "We just want him to be happy. This is a gift from our heart." Have you ever heard of a hotel with staff that are so thoughtful and kind? That blew us away!
And the hotel is just fantastic. It's on a super quiet little lane, so the rooms are evey quiet and there's no street noise at all (which is rare for Chiang Mai old town). The rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable, plenty of hot water and the AC is strong.
The breakfasts are REALLY tasty! Crusty fresh rosemary bread made by the chef that is delicious, tons of fresh fruit, specialty coffees, eggs made any way you like, sweets, hot and flakey croissants, Thai delicacies and fresh juices. Best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel, anywhere in the world. Seriously amazing with so many special little details just right.
It was such a fantastic stay at BED that we were very sad to leave. It's just exceptional! And to the staff, thank you so much for making our stay so special! We truly appreciate it! You guys are wonderful!

This place suited us perfectly in the Chang mai old town. The staff could not do enough to make our stay more comfortable. We booked a poolside room which we thought might be a bit noisy as it overlooked the breakfast room. It was, however, an ideal location to pick up an early morning cuppa as there were no room tea facilities. The breakfast room offers H24 bottles of water, coke, tea/coffee and a fridge full of cakes and fruit. The room was basic but very clean and comfortable. When we turned up for breakfast at 8:30 one morning it was full so I got a cup of tea and went back to our balcony overlooking pool/ breakfast room. We were not in a rush. The hotel manager saw this and came out to see if there was a problem. I explained we were not rushed and would wait 20 mins. He kindly offered to have our breakfast delivered to the patio if we wished. We declined as we really were not in a rush. The breakfast staff cater to a multitude of nationalities and again, nothing is too much trouble.
Our top visits were an afternoon with elephants and a visit to the Royal Gardens. Both an absolute must.

Wonderful accommodations in the old city. The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Bottled water is free and available in the rooms and, additionally, on every floor. Breakfast was wonderful with many delectable choices. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Wonderful costumer service.

This is a wonderful hotel, made exceptional by all the employees that strive to keep every guest happy. Marcella is so energetic and full of humor and nothing is too big a task for her. Every employee is helpful and they all go out or their way to make your stay very pleasant. We were a family of four and were able to check into the two rooms by 9:00AM, as we landed up on an early morning flight. We were offered a tasty breakfast while waiting. The rooms were clean, serviced well, the daily breakfast was fresh and delicious. This little hotel is as good as all the previous reviewers have mentioned. One of a kind experience!.

In BED, we don't have fixed rules or regulations, managers, supervisors or even training. What we do is to talk a lot about life together, what really matters for the travellers nowadays and how to have a happy Team working together. Our recent stay at BED Phrasing was fantastic! Just a bit off the main roads of the Old City, it means peace and quiet from the scooters and Tuktuks.
The rooms are simple, but very clean and include all of the necessary amenities. Water is also included, and available in the many self serve fridges throughout the property. The included breakfast is a great way to start the day, and was also very yummy.
However, the reason why BED Phrasing stands out is it’s staff. Everyone was always helpful, accommodating and polite. It always seemed like the staff was willing to go the extra mile to make sure we had everything - from allowing us to check in early to providing us with ice cream bars after a hot day exploring the city! It’s nice to know that the staff genuinely cares about what they do. The owner was even on site over the weekend greeting guests and helping out in the lobby.
I would highly recommend BED Phrasing and would love to come back again soon!

A lovely boutique hotel right next to the golden temple (Wat Pra Singh)
From the moment you walk in the staff are there with a smile, and plenty of their own cold bottled water.
Check was a breeze, and the room (104) was brilliant. Clean, fresh, big bed with a decent shower and a seperate roll top bath with a little courtyard beyond. Our only criticism is the room was a little bit dark but I think that's just the nature of the buildings in Chiang Mai. It didn't take away from our stay.
It was my girlfriend's birthday whilst we were there and they even got her a full size cake with candles and brought it to the room singing happy birthday!
The staff were always there to offer hints and tips. They have a Chiang Mai red taxi based at the hotel so it's very convenient if you don't fancy walking. The taxi is 30baht (75p) wherever you want to go, but they stop to pick up other passengers. Kind of like ĂĽber pool, but it might just take a bit longer getting where you want to go - but sit back and take on the sights! It's all part of the experience!
The hotels location is right in the heart of the old town which is perfect for exploring. There is a small pool (no where has big pools in Chiang Mai) but as it is the old town you won't get the sun on you on there as its on the middle of the court yard.
Breakfast was mainly cooked fresh for you, with plenty to choose from, good coffee and fruit juices! (they even kept some prepared fruit in the fridge all day for guests)
I cannot fault the hotel or their staff!
If I can back to Chiang Mai I would stay here again!

Overall, our stay at Bed Phrasing was amazing! The room was great, beds were extremely comfortable and having the minibar with waters and a couple additional drinks was very welcome after long days exploring Chiang Mai. The breakfast was great. The staff were extremely accommodating and helped us find great places to eat, things to do (that weren't in the travel books) and helped us with transportation to the airport on our last day! Highly recommend.

This is a fabulous hotel. It is in a perfect location, walkable to basically anywhere in old city Chiang Mai. The rooms are minimalist and on the small side, but spotless with a very comfortable bed and everything you could need. There is always plenty of hot water, and a cute little balcony. The breakfast is amazing with a good mix of western and Asian options with fantastic coffee, which is often hard to find at free breakfast. The staff were some of the friendliest I have ever come across, they made the stay next level. Stay here, you will be glad you did !

The staff here are the most friendly and helpful we have ever come across on our travels. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they all went out of their way to make you happy. Marcella deserves a mention for her lovely smile that greeted us every morning and doing everything to make our breakfast experience as delicious as possible with her suggestions. We also got a lovely hug when we left! BED Phrasing is a fabulous modern hotel, quite minimalist and very stylish. There is free water bottles everywhere and free coffee 24 hours. There is also a small pool. We went on a trip to Pai and weren't sure how long we were staying but we were allowed to leave our main cases there for as long as we wanted. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel, it is amazing!

there were 2 cats around when we were there in January - they liked to lie in the sun in some of the corridors. I am massively allergic to cats and they were not a problem.
There are more places to choose from in the Chiang Mai area.
