My boyfriend and I had our trekking booked through family tribal trekking and we're pleasantly suprised after reading some of the reviews. We were picked up from our hotel at 9:30 am in a converted pick up truck (the standard taxi for Chiang Mai). We (us and 5 others) were then taken to the start point after a few stops... More

Firstly the driver was 15mins late. We were picked up in a very old and beaten up car, first we drove up the mountain to the temple, he dropped us off and pointed to the stairs and said he will be back at 11am. The temple was great apart from all the stairs but that's all part of the experience.... More

This Boutique Guesthouse is located right next to Somphet Market, near the Est Gate of the old city. It's a decent accommodation offering clean bedrooms with tv, refrigerator, ac, hot water and balcony; there's also laundry service offered at a reasonable price. Staff is usually helpful and able to speak English. Highlight of the guesthouse is its position with Somphet... More

I stayed here for 2 nights, one before the Trekk and one after it was over. When I saw the name "family trekking" I didn't think too much of it then when I arrived at the hostel the place was literally someone's family living there and you walk through their living space to get to your room which I found... We were booked in here as part of a 3 day hike, just one night. The reviews had me worried but none of it was true. Clean room, great air con and the most powerful shower ive encountered in asia. Good location, the lady owner spoke excellent English and was very clear. Room had tv, fridge, massive bed, not a... More

This was the last place we stayed as a result of the infamous Bangkok tuk-tuk scam. We were booked for 5 days, but checked out after two to stay at the Ban Bon Doi Homestay outside Chiang Mai instead. I hated this place from the minute I saw it. It had no personality whatsoever. Most guest houses in the old... More

I'm really unsure of why there are so many negative reviews! The hotel picked us up from the train station, we checked in straight away and went up to our room. It was big with a nice big bathroom and a balcony. Fan only but Chiang Mai is generally cooler so it was fine! The staff were all friendly and... More

Well where to start. We ended up here as part of a Tuk Tuk scam in Bangkok, luckily it wasn't for a lot of money. Most of the reviews mention a Tuk Tuk scam, so a guesthouse which income is ran by a scam, should set your alarm bells ringing. We booked 5 nights at a hotel (Which actually, was... More

If I could give Family Tribal -5 stars I would. I'd like to start out by saying that this review is for a standard room/fan only. It was on the 3rd floor in the front of the building. This room at this hostel was automatically set up for my boyfriend and I through the tour booking agent we used in... More
