We spent 2 nights here in a spacious, clean and modern room with a nice bed and balcony overlooking the swimming pool and a pleasant courtyard. There was a safe in the room (although it wasn't attached to anything) and a water boiler and cups but no coffee / tea. The shower had excellent flow (though slightly reduced at hotter temperatures). The staff were pleasant and helpful, providing a map and information about nearby attractions as well as advice on purchasing a bus ticket for our onward journey and sorting a taxi to the bus station. The swimming pool was a good size and very clean but felt very cold when you first got in! Breakfast was fine, consisting of a choice of about 6 set dishes including eggs, toast and fruit plus help-yourself coffee and water. Birds seen in the trees in the courtyard included: Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker, a pair of Olive-backed Sunbirds & Asian Koel, plus Ashy Woodswallows overhead. Although we felt there was nothing outstanding about this hotel, we enjoyed a very pleasant stay here.…
My wife and I have stayed here numerous times. This place is a gem due to the friendly and helpful staff, large, well equipped rooms with balcony, excellent location close to some good restaurants and not a long walk into Thapae Gate. We have recommended the Sakorn to many friends as a place to stay in Chiangmai and they too have been extremely pleased with it. This is our 'home' while in Chiangmai and we will definitely be back! Staff: Friendly and pleased to be of help. Building: Solid with about 40 units. Location: About 20-25 minute if walking to Thapae Gate. Breakfasts: Are included with a number of the units. The breakfast soup of rice, pork, mushrooms, vegetables, and broth (tasting is believing) is one of five breakfasts this guy enjoys whenever here. We have crossed paths with previous guests who have returned themselves to the Sakorn on a number of occasions.…
Just outside the old city, this hotel has nice - sized rooms, a great breakfast, and is spotlessly clean (best in Thailand for us so far). The staff is super helpful. 3 English TV stations :) Great value!
Stayed here for 3 nights over new year and it exceeded my expectations. Had to stay out of town due to booking last minute but can't say it bothered us much. 15 mins walk into old town and there are always Tuk Tuk's outside which will take you for 100BT (£2.50). The pool area is lovely and was pretty empty too. The rooms are really spacious with everything you need including a bath and a shower. The staff are really friendly and helped us a few times with bookings. We ate breakfast once when we went to a tour and our tour guide ended up arriving before our breakfast came, so the staff put it in a take away bag for us to eat on the bus - so sweet. Would recommend this hotel.
We did not expect this place to be so peaceful. It is located a few KMs away from the main city. It makes up for this though with the tranquil surroundings. Very clean room, lovey bathroom which had a shower and bathtub as well for you to soak in after exploring the city. Very quick check in and very helpful staff. Only draw back is that the nearest 7Eleven is a good 15 minute brisk walk. You have to take a bridge to shorten the long commute. Still a lovely walk I must admit. There are no foot massage places in sight. The weekend night market did have locations for tourists to get a good foot massage and a really good price of THB150 for an hour which is really worth it (BKK will cost anywhere between THB 200 to THB 300+ for an hour). the location is pretty close to the CNX International Airport (7.5kms). I did not use a Grab, booked a taxi at the airport which cost only THB150 (Toyota Fortuner SUV). Loved the weather this time of the year. It dropped to 14 degrees C and increased during the day to around 30 degrees C. Overall a very memorable stay over here.…
Overall this hotel wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing either. I didn’t sleep great here, they only give you one pillow which was really uncomfortable, however I asked staff for an extra pillow and they provided one straight away. Breakfast is ok, it’s a set menu rather than a buffet offering cereal, cooked breakfast, fruit, toast, tea, coffee. We found breakfast slightly limited. Staff are friendly and always on hand to help. Wifi was really slow at times. Pool was nice, but the water was freezing. Location is good, it’s nice and quiet as it’s slightly out of town, but only a 10/15 min walk into town. Room was clean and spacious.
We stayed in a two bedroom suite, for me and my wife with our teenage son. The rooms were very spacious. The facilities are good, with a decent pool and gym. The views from the balcony across the city were lovely. Breakfast has 6 options, which cover all needs and were very enjoyable. The staff were very helpful and accommodating at all times. The air-conditioning was excellent. However it is the location which really sells this hotel. It is in a quiet suburb outside the city centre - but still 5 mins walk to the day market and 10 min walk to the night market. It is also right next to some of the best river restaurants in the city. There is also a superb cultural experience venue, just around the corner. Highly recommended.
The front desk was really helpful and answered all questions (and let us check in early). It’s next to this cute Indian restaurant, bakery and coffee shop. The pool was a great way to refresh after a hot day and the free breakfast was very filling! We had an early flight to catch and we asked the front desk to call us a taxi. When we came down in the morning, the hotel sent us off with sandwiches and juice for our travels! I would highly recommend!
Loved my time at the Sakorn. All that has been written before is true, big room, excellent Pad Thai for breakfast, great location, lovely riverfront restaurants just a short walk away...we ate at The Gallery 3 times. Staff will book whatever you like, even printed off my boarding passes. Highly recommend.
Big, quiet and cool room; free hot breakfast and water, swimming pool with deck, close to markets, close to train station. What more can you ask for. Only negative as far as location is it was a 30 minute walk to the old town.
