A gorgeous hotel with large rooms and every amenity. The bed was comfortable and the staff was so accommodating. There is a small restaurant on the property as well as some beautiful photographic buildings. There is a pool and it is surrounded by lovely foliage and flowers.

So Worth More Than we Paid: Ping Nakura excelled in every way: lovely rooms, small cozy bar, great pool and… an incredible Spa! The spa prices were so reasonably that we went twice in three days. The hotel picked us up from the airport in vintage Mercedes and we used their van service practically every day. We just loved this colonial style hotel.

We had a wonderful stay here. Everything about the hotel is fantastic. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is great and the French toast is the best. The location is perfect as well. Only a 5 - 10 minute walk to the night markets. A special thank you to the concierge for the rides into town in the hotels Mercedes. It made our stay all the more memorable. We would highly recommend this hotel.

I will forever be grateful for the hospitality that my husband, family, friends and I received during our stay in this wonderful hotel! I first emailed the staff of Ping Nakara on the 25th of December 2022 as my husband and I were set to get married in Anantara Chiang Mai Resort on the 8th of January 2024. We fell in love with Ping Nakara from the photos they posted on their website, the reviews that they had in Trip Advisor and it was absolutely perfect that they had the just the right amount of rooms that would suit the number of guests attending the wedding. It was also really convenient that Ping Nakara is only 270m away from Anantara, as it made it really convenient for all our wedding guests. The lists below were what we love about staying at Ping Nakara: - how personable every one of the staff were and really went out of their way to provide the best service that they can! - the concierge were always the same people, who were always so polite and never failed to greet us with a smile - their breakfast staff (were also the same people each time) who always remembered us and knew what we liked to order and recommended dishes for us to try - the food! The breakfast options were absolutely delicious, my husband really loved the Northern Thai Set and another favourite of ours is the French toast and waffles! - the guard (I believe he was the one who drove the Classic Mercedes Benz so that he can drop us off to Old Town, and the one who drove my husband, groomsmen and mother-in-law to Anantara on our wedding day) he was so kind to us and it always made our day every time we saw him! - the sparkling wine surprise! Thank you so much for that again! I think it’s those little touches that really make the experience for the guest! - that the minibar gets restocked each time! - how spacious the room was; the bed and pillows were really comfortable - the happy hour deal was also great! - the spa vouchers were greatly appreciated - the overall spa experience was great! Definitely felt very relaxed and rejuvenated! I would also like to say thank you for responding to each email and for being so accomodating with all of my requests! Wedding planning is never easy, but I was grateful that I never had to worry about the accomodation side of things because you all took care of that part for me! Thank you so much again for a truly memorable experience!

There are definitely big chain hotels in Chiang Mai - and some are brand new as of this review - but if you want individuality, personalized care, and stunning charm, this the hotel for you. The street traffic at night may not be to everyone’s liking, especially depending on where you are coming from, but they thought of that: a second set of doors inside the room offers just enough additional sound-proofing. Breakfast is wonderful and although I didn’t have time for a drink, the bar is gorgeous.

Thailand's Most Elegant Colonial Style Boutique Hotel! We enjoyed the peace and serenity. The rooms are very cosy and comfy. The service team is very welcoming and helpful: Ms Pat, Ms Ying, Chef Sanit We had the most delicious French Toast by Chef Sanit for breakfast by the pool and we highly recommend more travellers to experience this.

I’m apologizing for an earlier rating of 4. I complained that the Tv viewing was less than stellar. My wife said I’m a curmudgeon, and didn’t travel 10,000 to watch tv. Sooo….. I’m giving it a rating of 5. Honestly, one of the coolest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, and the nicest people I’ve ever dealt with! (Kind of a Thailand thing!) Buuutt….TV, not so much! 🤪

We absolutely adored staying at this beautiful hotel. It definitely evokes another era and we felt royally pampered. We didn't come across anything to rival it in Chiang Mai. Our room was luxurious, with a choice of pillows, and the perfume from the tree overhanging the balcony intoxicating. We enjoyed the choice of breakfasts which were all well cooked and presented. At the other end of the day we took advantage of "happy hour" in the library, which was most welcome after a day packing in sightseeing and as a reviver before dinner. We didn't get the opportunity to eat in the evening at Ping Nakara, but there is a wonderful bistro just next door which overlooks the River Ping where the choice and quality is excellent. We were grateful to be treated to a couple of local trips out in the old Mercedes which was an unexpected indulgence. All members of staff were exceptional: warm, welcoming and friendly. Final thanks to Ping Nakara for sending my coat on to a hotel in Bangkok. I left it behind in the confusion of loading our luggage into the taxi but they posted it to me at no expense. I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel and would have no hesitation in visiting again in the future.

Beautiful hotel in a convenient location. Happy hours every day from 5-6 I believe. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pool. It was always super quiet. For smokers, there’s a smoking area right outside. Nice little balcony. Just a pleasant experience.

We enjoyed our stay at Ping Nakara. While the location from the old town/restaurant area is probably a bit more than walking distance, we could easily manage with taxis/tuc-tucs. Rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. There also is a nice pool in the garden. We very much appreciated the breakfast and the bar in the evening. If you directly book with the hotel, they offer complimentary airport transfer - also with their Mercedes oldtimer. Recommended !
