Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for 6 nights. The rooms were as expected but at times there would be no hot water for a shower and our air con made a hell of a noise. There was only 2 hangers in our wardrobe and if you need more it would cost around 300 THB. The food and staff were fantastic.
There is a driver outside called Mr Lucky and he, his wife and his two sons have looked after us all week with trips to many attractions and into town most evenings.
He is very reasonably priced and can advise as to where are good places to eat etc

We stayed here at the start of our trip and it was so good that we booked to come back for 3 days at the end as well. Very large rooms in an old traditional Thai style, and just 25 mins walk from the centre (or a very quick and cheap tuk tuk). The staff are very helpful and there is a free taxi service to the night market every evening. We loved it!

Overall my boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay here however if we were to come back to Chiang Mai we would stay elsewhere. The photos online looked better than the actual rooms and the hotel could definitely do with a deep clean and revamp. The rustic wooden doors add character however, there’s huge gaps in the doors making it very easy for the mosquitoes to get in. We stayed in the deluxe room and while it was a decent size we didn’t quite get the the gigantic tub that seemed unusable. The room definitely needed some touch ups and maybe a new coat of paint. Bed was comfy though. We did get moved from the first room as it was clear pretty quickly that the air con wasn’t working.
Location wasn’t the best. If you want to be in the action And within walking distance to the old town then this isn’t the best choice. We chose this hotel as it looked cool and the pool looked inviting but in reality we didn’t use the pool as we were out adventuring. We were also always the last pick ups for the tours.
We did LOVE the food though from the restaurant.
I’d say this was a good hotel but not great.

We recently stayed for 3 nights at this Hotel and had a lovely stay. The bedroom and bathroom was clean, comfortable and well equiped. The restaurant served great food with friendly staff ( we had breakfasts and evening meals). It has 2 pools and we enjoyed relaxing on sunbeds and swimming after various excursions and making the most of the facilities.
Good location as situated up a quiet side street off a busy main street so it was a great place to relax away from the busy city of Chiang Mai. Recommend this Hotel and would stay again if return to Chiang Mai.

Stayed the first time in Chiang Mai at the Rainforest Hotel and loved it. From the time I arrived, the staff was very friendly and attentive. The hotel is locate approx 6 km from the old town, and offers free shuttle service at 8 pm to the night market. Taxis or motor bike (taxis) are widely available and get you for appr 60-100 bth to the city. (one way). The breakfast buffet was not overly extensive but ok.
The pool area is good. The restaurant offers poolside service.
The room ( Luxury Room) was fantastic. It featured a ground spa and the mattress quality was perfect. Rooms have mini bars and safe.

This hotel is out of the main city on a quiet street. We stayed in a boutique room on the ground floor. (Our original room was on the 2nd floor and not as much light in that. The AC started leaking and the owners moved us to a new room fairly quickly). We preferred the ground floor room. The king sized bed was comfy, the room and linen cleaned everyday. There is an in ground bath outside, fully private and the shower room and toilet are also outside of the main room. We had breakfast included, which was delicious. Thai options as well as cereal, toast, pancakes and eggs available. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We even asked one night to heat up the leftovers from our Thai cooking class and they did that in the restaurant area. The pool was great for cooling down in after a day out and about. Would recommend this hotel.

Great little hotel, but don’t book this thinking that you will be in the centre of everything. A 100baht tuktuk will see you to the old town and you can explore from there! 2 great swimming pools with friendly bar staff to keep those cocktails coming. Would recommend for family’s and couples.

We loved this place! Our room was amazing. The room is definitely rustic but clean and comfortable! The staff were super great. It was not overly crowded and away from the busy touristy area. There is a free shuttle to the night market. There is a family across the street that offer inexpensive laundry, taxis, and tours. It felt very safe when we walked around. We loved the buffet breakfast every morning. We also enjoyed the other meals we ate there. Both inexpensive and yummy! We stayed in many ‘fancier’ newer hotels while we were there as well... and we can be hotel snobs... and this isn’t the fanciest... but there is something magical and true that we really loved. We were there for six nights. We would stay there again and would recommend it!

Hotel located in a quiet area of Chiang Mai.
Very warm welcome from the daytime receptionist. Very spacious and clean room. No one in the restaurant the evening we went, acceptable food but nothing crazy, however the service was very good (the person who serves is also in the kitchen). Breakfast is self-service and unlimited, the same as everywhere else in Thailand: continental, English breakfast, Asian specialties, eggs prepared fresh... so very varied!

It’s definitely worth giving this place a go - we stayed 5 nights and it’s got everything we needed. Don’t expect luxury but it’s a good base to explore from and it’s nice to be able to come back to somewhere where you can hang out around the pool. Although in 5 days we were so busy we only ended up spending time around the pool for a couple of hours at most.
Expect to pay 100-150bht each way to get into central Chiang Mai and back. We walked it one evening but it’s definitely better to get a taxi or Tuk Tuk.
There’s also a really lovely, well looked after black lab who keeps you company with you while your waiting for pick ups.

Hi, I stayed at the rainforest boutique hotel a few weeks ago. They offer a free shuttle bus into the night markets and it takes less than 10 minutes to get there. You can get a tuk tuk back for around 100 baht :)
Elephant Nature Park is the best! They provide shuttle pickup service from Rainforest Boutique. It was the greatest experience!
