This chalet/resort offers a special experience in quiet part of Chiang Mai. Very personalized service by staff. Pre-check in confirmation, and ability to contact service team through Whatsapp are greatly appreciated. The in-house restaurant serves great food too. Would be a great place for couple retreat.

Just a hour drive from city you can enjoy larger room (recommend room 11 or12) with mountain & greenery view. The main restaurant is lovely with small panoramic swimming pool where you can get good breakfast & dinner. The decoration inside the room is good but with European style. Service is good & staffs can speak English.

Hard to believe Chantra Khiri is only 25 minutes from our home in Chiang Mai. It feels like another world. The environment is beautiful with huge hills abounding. It is a true boutique resort with excellent service. Our teenagers loved the pool and the food was excellent. The owner even gave us a complimentary local dish at supper. The Manager Khruu Maplang accommodated us very well and if there were any small issues she was quick to ensure they were resolved. The chalet we stayed in was like a luxury treehouse - very unique. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to be close to Chiang Mai yet feel they have escaped from the urban world. We would definately return.

This hotel is lonely in the mountains. If you are looking for peace, or come with your own car, is definitely better ordered than someone who comes without a car, because the hotel is so steep on the mountain that you can do nothing else here. The hotel has 20 rooms, some of which have wonderful mountain views. I had booked a room with mountain views and was not disappointed. The room is wonderful, the view breathtaking, the room was all clean and pleasant, and the fact that I only found shopping channels on television is probably not because of the hotel, but because I don't know how to watch TV in Thailand.
Peace seekers will probably come to rest in this place, because there is nothing here but the hotel, a small pool, and a restaurant. I wrote about the restaurant separately. I have no idea why the gastronomy of the hotel is in the Michelin guide, that is absolutely undeserved - most street food stalls cook better and for less money. Breakfast the restaurant is deplorable. But also that see restaurant review.
Back to the room: the rooms are all individually designed differently, and you can choose according to your personal taste. There is a safe and a lot of pleasant lighting, and of course air conditioning. However, the air conditioning is very noisy and mounted directly in the ceiling above the bed, thus blowing directly on the sleeping person. Opening the window is not an alternative, as there is no mosquito screen attached, and thus not only mosquitoes, but also all sorts of other animals would have free access to the room. Located in the green nature, and at night there is literally something going on out there, so the window better stay closed.
There is the possibility to make coffee and tea in the room, plus two small bottles of water. If you want more water, you have to buy it for 30 baths per half litre.
The Wi-Fi in the room didn't work for me most of the time at all. Even in the restaurant in the evening it is constantly off.
The complex has a pool with views, but otherwise is completely unspectacular overall and somewhat outdated.
If you need a taxi for departure, book it an hour in advance as it has to start from Chiang Mai.
I award three stars because I liked my room and the view, but for a nice hotel experience overall just missed too much. If the connected gastronomy could create a Michelin-guide-worthy dining experience, I would definitely recommend this house for a romantic weekend for two. But so it was prospect and done.

This is a review for the restaurant not hotel.

Visited previously 5 years ago before the Michelin recommendation but standards seem to have dropped.

The beautiful view is now partially obstructed by the overgrown trees, and the staff are no where near as friendly.

We stopped by for drinks and dessert, the red velvet cake was stale and dry and clearly not freshly prepared. Were told all the tables were reserved but there was only 2 other people in the venue during our entire time there.

It's a shame standards have dropped so much as this was a hit previously.

It was a bit of a trek up the mountain, but once we got here, we understood why.

The Chalet gives a very European palace vibe, the decorations and buildings are exquisite. The restaurant is amazing but the real gem is the morning view looking at the mountains.

There is just nothing quite like it in Chiang Mai.

5 STARS!!

Gorgeous mountain retreat in the hills of Changmai. The most beautiful hill views we have seen from any resort in Thailand. A junior suite filled with lovely antiques and supplied with the highest quality amenities. Plus, a lovely restaurant which boasts a Michelin Bib Gourmand. What more could you ask for

Service is amazing. Perfect weekend getaway only 40 mins from chiang Mai city. Everyone was so helpful. Perfect place to unwind read a book and reset. Two dogs super friendly. Trump and Lincoln. Check in and check out was a breeze. There is a lil shuttle bus to take you up the steep hill.
