VIP House accommodation has had some recent renovations with the steps re-tiled, some bathroom improvements and some rooms painted ... there is a small family operated resturant downstairs that has cheap Thai and western food with vego and vegan options ... resturant staff speak very good English and will ensure your dietary requirements are met

Rooms are just ok for the price but restaurant.. the prices are very low, most of the food cost 50thb but shripms are in shell, food is with out tace and western food don't even try to taste or look like it should. The size of the dishes are quite fine.

I checked in with 2 guys I met on my flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. We haven't booked in advance but informed us when we got there and for the price it made a good first impression (400/night for a room with ac + 200 key deposit ) . The location is nice since it is close (or even...

We've stayed here a few times on our trips to Chiangmai. We really enjoy staying here. It is a very basic guesthouse, but very clean and comfortable. This trip we found our room had been recently painted-a plus. The hotel is a bit run down but very clean. The rooms are very spacious. Unlike most cheap guesthouses the beds are...

Stayed here for several days and had a positive experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was cheap, location is excellent. I stayed in the fan room which was admittedly pretty warm and I would recommend getting an air-con. 4 stars instead of 5 because the wifi was bad

I chose this guest house because I wanted a location not far from Thapae Gate, and this is located in Soi 1 of the Sunday walking street. My room was nice, so fresh not even need the air conditioning, moderately priced and clean. A very good deal

We stayed here for 20 nights eventually, as a family it is ideal. The rooms are large and have working fans and warm showers. You get what you pay for but we were very happy with our room. It was quiet, excellent sleep, the beds big and comfy, mossies nets on Windows and door and everything worked. The staff were...

The good thing about the VIP house is that it is very cheap (350 double fan) and if you stay longer you can have it for even less. The location is bery central and within reach of all main spots. But the downside is that it is in fact not very clean nor well maintained. The rooms are cleaned very...

What a strange hostel. There's almost never anyone working downstairs so not a great staff experience. The location is great to check out old town, especially the Sunday market and there is a passible restaurant downstairs. The rooms are kind of grimy and cheap but nothing gross or dangerous.

Thank Sarah H

“Look at the room before choosing, if staying for long time then ask for a better rate - eat locally, the food is superb and really cheap.”

“On the upper floors, it appears, the further you are away from the stairwell, the lower the WiFi signal (which is free, though password protected). Also note, there are no elevators, so be prepared to climb stairs.”

“If you don't need internet for most of the day and don't mind sharing a bathroom, go for one of the rooms in the wooden house. They're clean and have a certain charm to them that you won't find in the main building. If you're planning to stay for several days or more, go for one of the larger rooms upstairs in the main building. It's a decent amount of space for one person and the natural light that comes in makes it quite cheerful.”
