Nice room, and even nicer staff, try and get a top floor room because the view of the mountain is unreal! The bed was a little hard, but it had ac and a fan which both work well, and the hot shower worked like a champ. Breakfast restaurant just around the corner had the best conjee (breakfast porridge) we have ever had..... Look for the spot just inside the moat that's full of locals in the morning

I liked this place because it was clean, quiet yet felt like a hotel. The room I had was cool even though it only had a fan and the shower was good as was the internet. I didn't hear any of the other guests but could and did meet them for breakfast and coffee during the day. The owner was lovely as were the staff and I had a really good stay. This is one of the better places and not expensive and was well worth the money.

The rooms are fresh, bright, airy and cheap and always smell like fresh laundry. The owners Noi and her husband are just lovely and make you feel at home with great local knowledge and a cute little dog. The area and hotel are very safe and secure with beautiful restaurants on the door step. The wifi is decent and the location is quiet but easy access to all attractions. I have stayed here on numerous occasions and couldn't say a bad word about it.

Kavil Guesthouse is a fantastic place to stay. I live in Chiang Mai and stayed there for a month as a break from my residence given to me by my job. The two owners were very helpful and made the stay very pleasant. The guesthouse is in a great location and is good value for money. It is a few minutes walk to the Sunday night market and it's located in the Old City which is perfect. If you are interested in clubs it is a 5 minute walk to Zoe in Yellow which is a well know tourist club. If you're not into partying, like myself, it is still a great location and is perfect for easy access to various day trips, stores and for Thai massages places! As I said the two owners are amazing and more than willing to make your stay enjoyable. They will help book trips for you and they have

There are cheap rooms with fan and good beds. Everything is clean and well maintained. The owner of the house has contacts with many operators, so that they can make good prices. At best they tell her husband always, if you plan something and the two have often good suggestions or good alternative prices.

Not the best hostel room I ever stayed in, but definitely worth the price. The owner is very nice and gave us a decent discount for all activities we booked. The location is fine (about 8 min wallking from sunday market)

I am so glad i found this. My experience in Chiang Mai would not have been the same without the people who took care of this place. Nui and Jarat were amazing managers who you felt close to and who really cared about the enterprise they have. Caring, friendly, helpful and oftentimes mischievous. Accomodation is reasonable. Located in the heart of the old city near pratu tha phae, easy access to sunday night markets (30second walk), great cafes, restaurants and temples. Also located close to a few well known bars such as THC rooftop and Zoey in Yellows (if that's your cup of tea). I will definately come back to visit again. I forgot to mention that Nui and Jarat also take care of trip and adventures around Chiang mai and everything can be organised with them. They also do

We stayed at the Kavil Guesthouse for 5 nights in late July/early August. It is located in the central part of the old city in Chiang Mai and provides easy access to all the key sites in this area. It is a 'traveller' area of the city and has all the necessary shops, restaurants, pharmacy, banks, ATMs and money exchanges within walking distance (5-10 min). If you are getting a taxi from the airport I recommend taking a map from tourist information and showing your taxi driver where you want to go on the map as the old city can be quite confusing in a car and our cabbie did not know where he was going (a Soi is an off-shoot lane from a main street, in this case, Ratchadamnoen Road). The guesthouse is family run and the staff are friendly and helpful. We booked all our taxis

Great small family style guesthouse, quiet and near thapa gate. Stayed there last few times while in town. Yesterday they even returned my rental bike, when I was running late... Check out little owner operated 4 table restaurant across from Kavil - Somnam.
