Nothing spectacular. Stayed 2 nights and though it appeared clean there was a smell in the walls that made the last night pretty unpleasant. Also, the bed left a bit to be desired. Very lumpy. The location was great though.

The positives: Great location with walking distance of all the fun things to do in Chiang mai. Nice pool that stays cool throughout the day. Massage place for 200bht 10m away. The negatives: Wifi did not work during our stay. No AC. Thin walls. They charge for instant coffee. It was fine for us for 3 very hot nights, but... More

Good for a reasonable budget and very lovely! It's far enough outside to be silent at night, even in Songkran! But it still only a few minutes from restaurants, bars and street food! As far as I'm concerned it's a perfect place to chill out, there's plenty of comfortable seating on the decks outside the rooms, good Wi-Fi and the... More

We had a nice time at this place. We had to change it because we didn't book for more nights but it was a good experience. Close to the old city center and in a quite neighborhood which made this place a nice place. We stayed here on March 2015

I stayed at Smile House Boutique as part of a tour with Tucan travel, so cannot comment about value for money (however now knowing the prices they charge I would say good value for money). Rooms are spacious and bathroom is well set out. The Boutique itself is very quaint; giving a feeling of being somewhat secluded in such a... More

This was my first solo trip abroad and I mainly booked this hotel as it was good for my budget. I expected a simple guesthouse and that is what I got. The atmosphere is calm and serene and I really loved the wooden deck where I could sit alone, surf the net, read and grab a bite. The rooms are... More

Service was fine. They allowed us to check in early, which was nice. Rooms were clean but the bed was OLD and SUNKEN and the walls were so thin I could hear a child screaming outside for about an hour. The guest next to me could hear everything I did and said and I could hear that she was getting... More

The location is great! Just outside of Chiang Mai Gate! You can walk to many restaurants and markets. The night bazar is a 30 minutes walk or a 10 min. tuktuk-drive. The rooms are clean BUT the wall are only thin wooden walls! (See photo) You can hear EVERYTHING. Snoring, chatting and TV from the other guests through the whole... More

perfect place for those wanting central location,a/c, clean place. there is a food market right across the main road at night and many temples around. friendly staff. My favorite part of my trip was hiring an inexpensive driver to view some of the further places. I hired a man named jeff and he was much more helpful than I expected.... More

I have stayed one week in smile house boutique and loved the place: close from Chang Mai center but in a very quiet street. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The first days I was in a room situated behind the building, and it was a little loud in the night because of a electricity generator, so I asked... More
