After staying in a number of dorms, I was looking for a budget single room. This hostel fit the bill. The grounds are nice, the rooms are nice/safe but the best part is the staff. They can give you as many recommendations are you have time to hear, which really made my trip incredible. For the money, Banilah can't be...

This is a fantastic place. Rooms are clean. Free water. Staff are some of the best we've come across all throughout Asia - cared for us and provided great information for tourist activities. The location isn't in the main old part but it's very close to some spectacular food that's incredibly cheap. Cats are fine, unless you're allergic. Care and...

Banilah is a fantastic place with amazing people. I was so so satisfied with my stay (solo, 2 weeks) that I came back for my second stay. I rented one of the bicycles for free and toured around the area, which is busy both day and night with lots of opportunities to eat. The area: There are several 7/11 and...

People there are really sweet but our room was dirty there were hairs on our sheet, showing the room wasn't cleaned after the last people. You could do a lot better for the price. There's also no aircon, the fan rooms are really hot. Definitely avoid. Location is also bad as you have to get a taxi to everywhere where...

Everything about the hostel was fantastic. Reception was so incredibly helpful and friendly. They gave us a detailed orientation on the city, where to eat, what to see, where to shop etc. They helped book our next trip to Pai and were just really nice to be around. The hostel was very clean and in what I consider to be...

My experience at the Banilah Hostel was very enjoyable. The host, Nancy, did an amazing job playing host to me during my stay in Chiang Mai. Within the first 30 minutes of checking into the hostel, she sat me down and gave me a full, detailed rundown of the immediate area, as well as the larger Chiang Mai city. Based...

My friend and I are backpacking and this is the perfect hostel. The women who run it are amazing. The first day we got there they created a map of the city with places we should go, directions of places and a card that we can show taxi drivers. They helped us find/book elephant excursion, rent a full day red...

We were so impressed with the service and how helpful and friendly the staff were. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. We would really recommend! Staff helped us finding our way about Chiang Mai, suggested places to go/eat and helped us book some activities we wanted to do. Really made us feel at home, everything was taken...

We absolutely LOVED Banilah!!! No where else in our travels were the staff so welcoming and helpful. Being given a map with everything explained and highlighted really made our trip to Chiang Mai the best stop of our travels. With the advice of staff we tried out restaurants and food stalls that we otherwise would have never found and the...
