Centrally located just a 10 minute walk to Koh San road etc. The room we had was good, and the swimming pool was a welcome addition. One of the highlights was the great buffet breakfast with plenty of options to choose from. The hotel restaurant is also good, serving tasty food at honest prices. So all in all a good...

I spent two nights here and after backpacking round Thailand for a month, I wanted to stay somewhere a little nicer for my final stint. The pool and roof terrace are lovely and the location worked really well to see the sights. It's a pretty hotel, although a little old in places but in general the staff welcomed me well....

This little hotel is very nice and the staff is very friendly. The small pool gives you a nice refreshing after the visit of this big city. The breakfast is good and with a good choice. We had a room in the second building which is a very short walk down the river (passing by local inhabitants greeting friendly); in...

We slept in the best tree house, the other area just looked like hotel rooms. I will do it again with my kids. I would not have to do it again myself. It old! It was so much fun. There was a storm and the tree shook. There was a fire in the village and the chief called for the...

Lovely place to stay on our first night in Thailand. Nice, clean rooms with good A/C and comfortable beds. There was also a great, free breakfast that would suit a mix of tastes, including nice Thai dishes. The pool was also great to have, as we unwound there and relaxed after a long day out in Bangkok. The staff were...

We read a lot of reviews on different hotels in city centre and it hard to find something quiet (no parties and drinking till morning), comfortable and pleasant near attractions. If you like walking, everything is near to you up to 30 mins. We stayed here for 5 nights, in the old building. All was clean, bed comfortable with small...

This was our first stop in thailand and it was amazing. The staff were helpful, the food was good and the room was clean. The original thought of having to walk from the road down a poorly lit path to the hotel was weird at first but worth it. It is very close to most things that anyone would want...

After 3 weeks in Thailand, we stayed at Lamphu Tree House on our last night, and it turned out to be our favorite accommodation of the trip (and we wished we had stayed here instead when we first arrived in Bangkok at the start of our vacation). We liked its proximity to the canals, and it was also in walking...

We stopped here for 5nights as I was unwell. Good price for accommodation. The pool was definitely a bonus. Breakfast was good and staff very helpful. Pleasant room and the beds were firm. Close to koh san road but out of the noise. I would happily stay here again.

We truly cannot figure out what people are raving about with regards to this hotel. The taxi dropped us off in the street near it and pointed some buildings on the street (to the wrong area) and left. You only have to walk about 1/2 block off the main street but it was very hard to find. A rather creepy...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
