Solo traveller once again. I have been here one week and plan to stay two more weeks. The guesthouse is nestled in garden off a prime location on rambuttri street, very quiet, very clean, very friendly, restaurant, free wifi, right next door a seven eleven store and money changer, no problem going out at night, lots to see and do,... Please reiterate with the taxi driver that you're going to Lamphu House and not the other one with almost the same name...Lamphu Tree House. Those hotels are far from each other. So when you are to be dropped at the wrong hotel, you'll have to walk for almost 30 mins. to get to the right one. This hotel is located... More

We stayed in Lamphu house for 2 nights on 1st & 2nd of Jan 2013, and liked it so much we booked another night when we returned to bangkok from traveling around. We shared a twin fan room with a shared bathroom, as simple as you can get and it was worth the cheap price. The rooms have comfy beds... More

We needed a place to stay for one night during high season right after NYE. I pre-booked the room via email and their payment system online where I was able to pre-pay via a credit card. The staff was very quick to respond to all emails. We got a room on the second floor with 2 single beds, A/C and... More

I booked the triple air-con room for 2 nights, but the experience was terrible. The room was not as clean as review that I have read. The bed sheet are dirty and the air-con is very noisy. The Wifi did not work at all and after complaining to the receptionist, she became angry and did not want to help at... More

Looks like the popularity of the place has made their service terrible. The rooms are nice and clean, location is great and the nice courtyard make it look like an excellent choise. Service on the other hand makes you want to think twice. We booked in there for two nights and desided to extend our stay with two more so... More

The guesthouse itself is quite good. Mind-blowing good? I'd have to say no, but it sure does the trick for a decent price. Lamphu House has hot water, bug-free beds, clean rooms, and electricity. The lounge area is open-air and definitely a respite from the often sticky, sometimes smelly great city of Bangkok. We booked a standard room with a/c... More

We stayed here for 2 nights when we first arrived in Bangkok. It coast about 350 baht to take a taxi from the airport. This place really is right in the heart of things. A minutes walk to Khoa San and lots going on in the area. Somehow, although this place is right in the heart of it all, it... More

Have stayed here 3 times now, mainly because you can't get much better for the price in the Khaosan Rd area. I always stay in the fan rooms, which are around the 400thb price range and for that you get a clean room, share bathroom (cleaned regularly), free WIFI and the best bed in Bangkok. You can get AC for... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
