When we arrived we were informed we had been upgraded to a 'Eugenia Suite', and the room was beautiful. Simple decor, with furniture and decorating kept in original style. There were thoughtful touches in the room such as a fresh fruit platter and fresh coconut juice upon arrival. The staff were extremely helpful and made clear to us the facilities...

What a fantastic experience. It's not your typical hotel, but it has all the charm of an old colonial style house. On arrival we were picked up by an old jaguar (gorgeous). We had the smallest room in the hotel, but we didnt mind, since we only stayed 2 nights. The service was excellent, the food was great, the bed...

After two months of travelling IndoChina our last four days were spent at the Eugenia in Bangkok. We'd arranged for pick-up at the airport and transfer back to the hotel in one of the Eugenia's classic autos. The guide slept all the way back to the hotel (luckily the driver was wide awake!). A quick overview of the city is...

We stayed at the Eugenia for only one night (more's the shame) but it was absolute perfection. The service, from the very minute we arrived until we left, was impeccable. We had the very real perception that we were miles away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. I would agree with the other reviews that the location is probably...

Amazing and SO stylish! From the quirky , stylish front of house staff to the copper bath tubs, the REAL Irish linen bedsheets to the French Maid costumes on the great female hotel wait staff, not to mention the dozen or so single malts and all the vodka and gin brands known to man and all stacked on antique furniture...

We just got back from a weekend stay in a Sawasdee room at The Eugenia. Overall we were very happy with the hotel & would stay there again. However, we would warn off those who are expecting the same service as at a full-service Bangkok hotel. This is a small boutique city hotel with simple but tasteful furnishings & simple...

The Eugenia Hotel is really a stylish and gorgeous little hotel. The service and food there also impeccable. The linen sheets could be a little stiff but thats matching the whole colonial style experiance. I stayed there with my fiance (now husband) for a week, felt like i was living a movie. I suggest anyone who visits Bangkok to try...

Wonderful old-fashioned boutique hotel on soi 31 - not walking distance from the usual night life attractions, but a bit more peaceful for it. Big, comfortable old fashioned rooms and bath rooms. Excellent F&B in the library style public areas. Complimentary internet access and lap-top loan. Only 12 rooms, so feels much more like a home from home than the...

A class act in every way! Eugenia delivers what they promise! We stay in Bangkok on business very often to getaway from the boring, drab cookie-cutter world of the big chains of hotels. Being hoteliers ourselves we are always on the look out for a gem and is very critical when hotels do not meet expectations. The Eugenia has that old-world...

The Eugenia is one of the best hotel experiences we have had anywhere in the world. It is rare to come across a property that gets so much right. This is not your average hotel and you need to be prepared for something different. It is a little off the beaten track as far as Bangkok goes, but we had...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"The Charming Embodiment of Fine Living" " The Eugenia ", an old world style architectural beauty, is embodied in a late 19th century colonial-style house, charmingly decorated and tastefully furnished by its owner in the heart of down town Bangkok for travellers with refined taste who seek to enjoy more than a touch of the Fabled East. Each of the 12-suites of The Eugenia is appointed with antique furniture and fittings. The four-posted beds, settees, dressers and desks in the suites are of various vintage as are light switches and light fittings; they bring you back perhaps eighty or a hundred years, or more. The period decoration even extends to the bathtubs that were made of hand - beaten copper and aluminium-alloy. ... more   less
