Pros: Decent location, pool, beds comfortable. Cons: Wifi costs 40 baht for three hours, rooms are not very clean, not a lot of hot water, unfriendly staff, dubious massage parlour, the taxi-stand is a total ripoff, not within walking distance of the metro, restaurant mediocre, loads of apparent sex tourists (and a sign in the lobby warning about child sex...

I stayed in this hotel during my 1973 overland trip to Australia. It was pretty new then. It was the best hotel of the whole six month trip. I'm glad it still exists. It was good value for rooms and food then. I have no idea how I found it in 1973, Bangkok is such a different place. My room...

The Malaysia is a middle class hotel twenty pounds a day gets you a premium room. The restaurant is first class and the prices are more than reasonable. The menu has Western and Thai food all cooked to perfection .Thai people use the restaurant and it's open for food and drink twenty four hours every day Another feature is the...

This is a very old Hotel in Sathorn area. They have a small but decent pool and a good restaurant. I´ve only stayed at the 6th floor renovated rooms, several times. The are not in the best shape but ok. The showers are not of best quality. I´ve heard the other rooms, which are cheaper, are not necessarily in a...

Very average place to stay, comfortable, decent restaurant, acceptable wifi well located. The place is definitely due for a renovation, but if you are into saving money, this place is good. Not expensive, which is the point of staying here. Staff are helpful and their English is good enough. Swimming pool is nice. Lots of restaurants in the area. 5...

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
