The title of my review is "terrible wifi" because to be connected is paramount in my life.. for work particularly I need a basic (just basic!!) wifi connection and this hotel, while boasting a wifi service, doesn't provide it at all.. the connection drops all the time and streaming is next to impossible.. prices have also gone up to reflect...

I found the hotel to be great value and we'll located, the reception staff were fantastic, helpful and spoke good English, the superior Queen Room I booked was spacious, clean reasonable well furnished and equipped. I could not stand still after reviewing the despicable review lying about the Malaysia. Taxis pass by the entrance all day and are On meters. The metro is a 10 min walk. Rooms and staff are fantastic. Restaurant/bar is 24 hour with great specials, and great value, many alternatives nearby. Go to the Ibis 20 mars away and pay double for less...

This was my third stay at the Malaysia (the first time was back in 2003) and each time I enjoy it more. I have to laugh at the most recent review I just read. Far from the subway station? It's an easy 10 minute walk (I guess if you're a suburban American who drives the car even for a block...

Pros: Decent location, pool, beds comfortable. Cons: Wifi costs 40 baht for three hours, rooms are not very clean, not a lot of hot water, unfriendly staff, dubious massage parlour, the taxi-stand is a total ripoff, not within walking distance of the metro, restaurant mediocre, loads of apparent sex tourists (and a sign in the lobby warning about child sex...

I stayed in this hotel during my 1973 overland trip to Australia. It was pretty new then. It was the best hotel of the whole six month trip. I'm glad it still exists. It was good value for rooms and food then. I have no idea how I found it in 1973, Bangkok is such a different place. My room...

This is a very old Hotel in Sathorn area. They have a small but decent pool and a good restaurant. I´ve only stayed at the 6th floor renovated rooms, several times. The are not in the best shape but ok. The showers are not of best quality. I´ve heard the other rooms, which are cheaper, are not necessarily in a...

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
