The restaurant run by Chakrabongse Villas is claimed to be perfect place for once-in-a-life-time dining in a very romantic setting. It is required to make an advance booking, in some cases, longer than a month. For foreigners, you will find it ecstatic to be treated like vip guests. You can have Thai food everywhere. But at this place, you will...

We were guests of the Navy opposite and need to book a venue for a reception next yr, so took a boat over on the off chance to visit Chakrabongse. Being private property we were expecting not to be allowed a viewing that day and that was the case. The surly security gave us a business card for the manager....

Regarding the recent failure to view the site for a wedding and the resulting negative review, we would like to explain that we cannot provide site inspections without a prior appointment. The potential client called only two hours before when our events coordinator was out. We are a small hotel and respect the privacy of our existing customers.

Just came home from Bangkok after a busy two weeks in Japan , We stayed here for 3 nights on our way home and, wow, what a gem. Yes, it is expensive by Thai standards, but we felt every cent was worth it. This was my 10 th Trip through Bangkok and have tried out quite a few Hotels, but...

While expensive by any town's standard this calm in the storm of sensations that is Bankok is worth it. Ms Atom and the staff are so welcoming we felt like family (in a good way), maybe even royalty. The food, both breakfast and a diner, are first rate. And you can eat while you watch the constant parade of boats...

Bangkok is a fantastic, bustling city but Chakrabongse is an oasis of calm, set between the Wat Pho temple and the river. About half a dozen rooms are set around a private garden, with a walk to breakfast, served in a beautiful building literally on top of the river, and providing the most wonderful views. The rooms are individual and...

This traditional Thai décor restaurant near Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) on the Chao Phraya River has both indoor, air-conditioned, tables and, if the weather cooperates, outdoor tables. Reservations are a must, online if you like, as this pricey, high-end traditional Thai food service only serves 30 diners a night ! The menu is fixed, it's pricey by...

An oasis of calm; small, intimate hotel. Best part was simply delicious dinner served on the terrace overlooking the river (only two tables), so truly unique experience. Breakfast on the terrace also a treat. Manager and staff were very helpful. Nice pool, which we had to ourselves for a whole afternoon.

It is a beautiful carm and homy oasis in the middle of hectic Bangkok, opposite the royal palace and 5min tuk-tuk-ride away from Khaosan Rd. Only six suites suround the swimming pool and an affectionately cared-for garden. Suites are very cosy furnished - one feels immediately at home. While having a drink directly served in front of the river Chao...

What an interesting beautiful hotel, without the feeling of a hotel. Perfectly placed on the river with views of the Temples. The history of the buildings is passionate and the manager is more than happy to share it with you. Within an easy walking distance is the must-see flower market as well as easy access to the The Grand Palace...

We stayed here a year ago in the Garden Suite and loved it so much we booked again this year at the start of our holiday. As we both love watching the boats on the Chao Phraya river we booked the Riverside suite. Both are good but the Riverside suite enjoys an enormous terrace to boat watch and have breakfast....

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
