Clean, safe & value for money if you want to stay in this area. Quiet rooms - ESP at the end of the corridor (I asked for that room). It's not really the kind of place I like to stay (too family orientated & budget hotel without a boutique vibe) however it's everything it says it is. Location is great....

I think I have stayed at The New Siam 2 at least 10-12 times because Bangkok ia a hub city for most S.E. Asian countries and that is where I stay. In the last couple of years they added a new large extension facing Phra Arthit Rd. running along side the river. The New Siam 2 is more of a...

The New Siam II Guesthouse is a great location. It's very close to Khao San Road/Rambuttri, but you can still get away from the madness and have a quiet room. It's a great location to the river for getting the river boat tours (Grand Palace, etc). The room was clean, with a fan and a/c, had a security box and...

Stayed here in January 2012 right at the start of a three month trip. Not a huge amount of atmosphere, but simple, clean rooms and good location, close to ferry pier, close (but not too close) to Khao San Road. Small but very welcome swimming pool was perfect after a long day trekking the street of Bangkok. It's certainly not...

We stayed at the New Siam in Bangkok three nights. The room is big enough, serviced if you ask and there was even a curtain shower! Great place for the price. We appreciated the pool, though alittle shocking when you jump in. I don't recommend breakfast there. The morning girls are slow and their attitude is not inviting. And they...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
