It was OK. Good room, cleaning everyday (they clean so good that you have to be aware of your belongings as YOUR MONEY CAN DISAPPEAR), no lockers. Very dark neighbourhood although quiet zone to chill. The best thing that it has is the terrace with a nice view. Location is good. Very hard to find the hostel.

We spent one night here due to proximity to the Railway Station and the fact that it was in Chinatown. Booked an air-conditioned room after reading other reviews and felt the price was quite high for what we got. Nowhere online did we learn that the road ends before the hotel and you have to carry bags down a narrow...

The prices where higher than the ones we were charged via our booking app (we went since we ended a biketour next door and we there hoping to see the rooms first before booking). The woman behind the counter informed us that she would not let us book via the app because it was last minute and they had to...

First things first, it's difficult to find but great once you do as its location in Chinatown, really makes you feel like your staying in Bangkok. The neighbourhood is essentially ground zero for street food in Bangkok with a great meal costing around 60 Baht and also has lots of intresting temples nearby. The guesthouse is also really very near...

I suppose in a way you get what you pay for, it's pretty cheap and the rooms aren't great but it did us well for 3 nights. We got a twin room which said it said aircon which turned out to be a big fan that did not produce a great deal of air. (But we did have a good...

The cheap room lacked air-con and the lobby isn't a good area to hang out. The nicer rooms seemed good but cost a LOT more. It's also absolutely miles away from most things so you'll need to get river taxis to anywhere worth seeing. Lovely entrance but the rest of the place was very budget. China town is right outside...

The River View staff clearly told me to talk the ferry boat to Marine Pier and walk from there. But I, lazier than most, decided that Uber was a better choice. My Uber driver tried very hard to deliver me to the hotel entrance, but it was not possible. There is a walkway to the entrance. Only a walkway. So,...

The Rever View Guest House shares an interesting location and view on a bend of the River Chaopraya, a short distance from several major hotels (Sheraton, Mandarin Oriental and Peninsula, on the Thonburi side). The hotel is located amidst a historic Chinese community called Talad Noi, just off Charoen Krueng Road (MRT to Hua Lamphong), near Chinatown, and offers reasonably-priced...

Great little hotel with friendly staff and close to Jonkers. The accommodation is basic but comfortable and very clean! Excellent for budget travellers. There is also river top guest house and river view cafe all owned by the same people. The cafe is fantastic.

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
