Stayed here many times. I can put aside ageing aspects of hotel and focus on friendliness of staff, huge rooms, wall to wall windows from waist height to ceiling, huge very comfortable bed and bathroom with bathtub. For the price +/- 1,000 baht ($33) it's best value in Bangkok. Very close to everything. Taxis passing the door. Skytrain 5 minutes walk. See you in December Grand Inn!
Not a bad place for a night or two if you want to be in the middle of the lively nightlife. Lots of great places to eat and shop. So the good is the location, the bad is, it's an older hotel that needs a makeover. Only older hotels have bathtubs. The water pressure was nonexistent. The bed was comfortable enough. The room had a flat screen tv, small fridge and the aircon was cold. Free water and towels provided.
Although my room was outdated, it was a large confortable room and the sheets and pillows were clean. The location was good. I didn’t take the breakfast option but a Starbucks is only a 5 min walk and early in the morning plenty of fruit street vendors close by. All in all—> value for money stay.
There is smell in the lobby area and the room. Size of room is great. Air con is not that great. Still uses the old fashioned way of key to enter and close room. Location was great. Many Indians in that area so it kind of smells but got to be understanding. Would stay here again due to convenience. Easy to get taxi too.
I have stayed at this place many times, but not since 2017 because the prices became too high for what is offered. This hotel offers value in the 1,000 to 1,200 baht per night range. So when I saw it offered this week at the lower part of that scale I booked it. However I had concerns because I read so much negative feedback on Trip Advisor. Maybe it had declined in quality since I last stayed? I felt reassured by the smile on the face of the receptionist. Check in was speedy. Unlike the lift, which is maybe the slowest in the world! But it's always been that way, so I was not concerned. Yes, the hotel is showing it's age, but consider what you get for your money. A large bedroom. A very comfortable bed. Silent air-conditioning (room 504). A full, well-priced mini bar. A safe. LCD TV with English, Thai and Arabic channels. A DVD player. A bath tub. Hot water to both the bath (and shower) and the bathroom sink. Bedroom slippers. A chair and stool. Coffee and kettle. I think the hotel is value for money and will be back.…
