the staff looked like they were forced to work in the hotel: they never smile, they never show any sign of courtesy or friendliness and they even snap at you when you complain about something. the room was OK. but we ended up being given a room with still occupants in it!!! then they gave us another room: the floor...

Stayed here for 3 nights before heading to Koh Samui. It was great to find a hotel like this in this area. We had no problems whatsoever. It's near the night market which is what we wanted and a short 10 min walk brought you to the river taxi and straight to the temples. You are near all transport actually...

I have been staying at this, one of Bangkok's earliest boutique hotels, since it opened, and many times each year. On one of my recent stays, I neglected to close my safety box in which were hundreds of dollars and other valuables. The maid who cleaned the room discovered this, and reported it to the management who kept all safe...

This was our third visit, and we found the room and service to be a bit worse than three years ago. The water pressure was poor and we had no hot water in the morning. It was fairly cheap but I think I would pay more for better next time.

Good location in Silom, 10 minutes walk from SalaDaeng BTS. Quietly located at the small alley in a busy CBD. For rate lower than USD65 a night, (booked through Agoda), I think its a good deal. But of course, like what the other travellers said, the room is starting to see some wear and tear. Its getting older and maintenance...

Would highly recommend this hotel. Unlike most hotels you get in Bangkok, everything in the Silom Serene works ! Although the hotel is not new, it is a well run hotel with well trained staff. Would stay here again.

Silom Serene offers spacious and tastefully decorated rooms ranging in size from 30 to 60 square meters on 8 floors. This boutique hotel is affordably priced, and conveniently located in downtown, near the BTS station. There are many restaurants and shopping malls nearby. My family of 4 enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was good....

When I come to Bangkok, I have been staying at the Silom Serene off and on for 18 years. The hotel continues to offer a good value for their rooms. Our welcome to the hotel was gracious, our room was nicely appointed and quiet....good for sleeping.... and the location is central to many things in Bangkok. This hotel offers a...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
