I've been in this Guesthouse only for a night fortunately as the bus for Koh Phangan has been cancelled because of the bad weather. When i approached to the reception they said there was a room with shared bathroom available for 300bht which is very good for the location of the place. I obviously accepted the deal and when i...

After searching for a room to stay for quite a while, we found new merry v guest house and stayed for three nights. We chose a room with a fan which was large and clean at reasonable prices. Breakfast is not included but you will find several restaurants in the street. The location of the hostel is very good. In...

Stayed with my two daughters, for three nights. Was the second time had stayed with family. Centrally located - accessible to multiple eating options and Khao San Road (if you like that sort of thing). Rooms reasonable size. Cleanliness was average to reasonable. Aircon efficient. Wi-fi in room reasonable. Desk staff efficient, if not always forthcoming. In all, a good...

Myself and two friends stayed here for 3 nights in August. The location was fab, away from the noise of Koh San and Rambuttri. Booked very last minute into a triple room. It was clean and simple, air con worked, absolutely no grumbles about the room. Staff were pleasant, we even got free wifi. Would defo stay here again!

The rooms aren't all that special but for the price you can't complain, it's in a good location for backpackers, especially for those wanting to get to Ko San Road. I've stayed in here many times and never had any issues. Free wifi, cheap laundry and cheap rooms. Good value and would gladly stay in here again.

Ate breakfast here one morning as we stayed in the Khao San area. There is nothing flash about the dining area, but the food was good and the prices were reasonable for this area. The set breakfast options were of particularly good value, and the coffee was large and hot! One lady seemed to be running the restaurant/cafe and was...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
