Quite simple hostel located not so far from downtown. One of the few good points were the owners, which were very nice and helpful. The room was a ground floor and it was an oven, it was impossible to sleep. We got to know afterwords that they have some volunteers working in exchange of accomodation. They live on the first...

This place is something interesting, first of all keep in mind it's someone's home not a hotel or a hostel it's a home! Second of all, it's not in the tourist area so if you want that go look for something else. All though a meter taxi drops you of at khao San road for 60bath so if you're oke...

This is a lovely home stay the owners are so welcoming and will do anything for you! They also rescue cats which is amazing and makes your stay feel really homely which we enjoyed. Beds were comfortable and we were made to feel at home nothing was to much trouble. It's a great area to see the real Bangkok and...

Spent a few days over Christmas 2015 with Aaron, Niddy, the cats and some lovely guests...................................... Great corner of Bangkok where you get a real 'slice of real Thai life!' Just the place for cat lovers and budget conscious explorers who don't want to be constantly hassled by touts..

If you're up for a basic hostel, this is your place...and because I love cats. There's lots of funky things to look at, lots of cats to cuddle and pat. The owner was certainly friendly and welcoming and the cats well taken care of...but clearly we have different levels of cleanliness and sanitation...which I can accept to a point, being...

We only stayed one night while we were transiting through Thailand but our stay was comfortable and fun. They have a lot of helpful info on the area and are to point you in the direction of what you need. We are actually going back to Bangkok in 6 weeks and needed an address to send a package. On calling...

really loved it here, you feel like part of the family, the owners are super helpful and location is great, walk few metres and cross the river on the boat cheap and you are on Bangkoks waterways which makes getting around easy. Cat lovers paradise, one cat even uses the toilet. Best Thai food ever across the street. Owners will...

It's a small hostel with friendly people and lot of cats (and I love cats!!!). Simply but very nice. I meet kindly people and it is near the boat to go to the city centre. If you want a cheap but nice guesthouse, full of backpackers, this is the right place :)

This was the perfect place to start my travels in Thailand. The hostel is in a neighborhood with few tourists and great street food. It's very close to the river so it's still easy to access some of the bigger sites but it's a bit quieter and defiantly cheaper than some of the other areas. The owners Aaron and niddy...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the Speak-Easy Homestay. Conveniently located 2 minutes walking distance away from the Tha Din Daeng Pier, where you can ferry directly across the Chaophraya River to the Ratchawong Pier. There, you will find the popular Saturday Night Market in Khlong Thom, and Chinatown as well. From the Ratchawong Pier, you can also hop on a River Taxi to go upstream to Khaosan Road, The Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Wat Po, and many other great places. In our cafe, you can feel welcome to enjoy sipping on a wide selection of beverages or munch on some bakery goods and treats, while relaxing on our comfortable furniture, in our home-style environment, with some great music, and WiFi access. A great place to come with friends or meet new ones. Our neighborhood is away from the main tourist spots, so it's a great place to discover some of the most delicious street food in Bangkok, explore the many day and night markets in the area, meet friendly locals, and experience REAL Bangkok. We are also really close to Chinatown, museums and temples such as the beautiful Grand Palace, shopping centres, Choapraya River, and even crazy Khao San Road. Our hostel has easy access to different transportation such as buses, BTS and riverboats, and is 800 metres from China Town and 1.5 km from Hualumphong Train Station. We are lovely family and our cats all friendly. always welcome people to our home. Hope to see you soon. Speak-easy family ... more   less
