If you expect for facilities you better go other hotel. But if you expect for budget hotel which is good service and warm welcome red planet is the place you should stay with.Location is pretty good, beside skytrain station and close by the mall.
This was originally under the Tune Hotel brand and the original concept was dirt-cheap, but clean, modern, and safe, rooms that started out with fans as the basic option, with upgrades for aircon and linen. They quickly changed to a more conventional operation with linens included and in-room, and all rooms aircon included. The very high point of this very budget hotel is the modern use of fire sprinklers and alarms, which is why I stay, and a spacious bed and spacious bathroom. The floor space, however, is VERY tiny with no room for a chair and desk, and, IIRC, not even room for a small fridge. When I didn't have to work - type on a laptop - the fold down shelf for holding a laptop, with me perched on the edge of the adjacent bed, was acceptable. 15 minutes typing simpe emails, paying bills, and booking my next hotel was easy. Now that I am retired, I find myself doing consulting work a lot more and as a result I need a much better place to type. The Red Planet location on Surawong is MUCH more workable - desk, fridge, can sit and work for hours. This Asoke location doesn't even have typing areas in the lobby (Suraworng does). So be both encouraged and forewarned - Red Planet Asoke has a superb loction, short walk to Asoke BTS and MRT (MRT is called Sukhumvit because its route is perpendicular), but you'll have to work from bed - watching Netflix in bed is fine, typing documents or editing videos are just too much. The 5 star rating is based on this being a budget hotel. It's clean, modern, safe, and a great place to sleep inbetween sight seeing; but it is not a Westin, Marriott, or other full-service hotel.…
Very good of services from hotel staffs, they always be willing to help all guests and they are able to manage problems very well and calmly. All staffs created impression with good services; security guard, front officers, housekeepers. Good location.
Strategic place, accessible to all, comfy room, nice and friendly statf and security guard (the young boy) I was just a bit disappointed for not providng a kettle. complimentary bottled water, and or cups for drinking coffee in the hotel room. Overall, I am happy with my one nigh stay.
I am staying in Thailand for a while, travelling around and using Bangkok as a central point. This is my third hotel in Bangkok within a month. The room was very small. Smallest one I have had! I am slim as well, one person. I kept falling over my suitcase! The positives, very clean, hot water, friendly staff, air conditioning, central location near public transport with shopping, bars and restaurants on your doorstep. The hotel is located on a side street but it is very safe. I walked it alone late at night a few times. This is the first hotel travelling to different parts of Thailand that did not give complimentary water. Very surprising and they need to do this. Annoying. I am not sure if they do offer breakfast as I never bother with it anyway. There is a security guard outside the hotel in the evening, plus you must have a key card to use the lifts (stops anyone from entering the premises). Rooms were just too small and basic for me. Reminded me of a Travelodge. There is no fridge in the room either. If your going to be out all the time like I was and just coming back to sleep and shower, then fine. Cheap and cheerful, clean, nice staff and a good location. If you want something more luxurious, then move to one of the 4 or 5 star hotels nearby. I am going to the beach for a few days and will then come back to another hotel in Bangkok (4 star). I need a bit more luxury and a bigger room! Wifi is hit and miss but this appears to be a common problem in Bangkok.…
If you are looking for a place in the centre of the action - this is it. Very close to Asok station and Sukhumvit area offering night life, shopping, and entertainment. The rooms are rather small but clean! However, you cannot open a window which is a big negative. Also, the walls are very thin - so expect to hear your neighbour, even when talking... Said this, I had good sleep in a comfortable bed (thank god for earplugs) and I felt very welcomed by the attentive staff.
Easy to get in and out of the city.Took advantage of the downtown location to walk to dinner. The room was clean and well maintained. I spend a couple days (3-6 Nov) and found that every staff members were delightful and eager to help. Great attitude.
Red Planet hotel is a good selection to stay in the centre of Bangkok. It offers convenient access to nearby local eateries and main public transportation to places of attractions. The place itself is clean and has attentive crew to make your stay comfortable.
First-time guests at Red Planet and this suited us perfectly! As a young couple exploring the city, it was an ideal location for us to drop our bags, hit the town, and come back at the end of the day to a sumptuously comfy bed and great shower. The location was so close to the main shopping areas (if that's your thing) but what we found most convenient was the proximity to all the healthy eating spots and tasty treats that Bangkok has to offer. Around the corner is a Jetts gym that did day passes for 500 THB which we also found convenient to work off the food-safari calories we accumulated! The rooms are suited for "in-and-out" travelers who really just need somewhere secure to store their luggage, with a bed to sleep on and a clean bathroom. The beds were hands-down the comfiest I've slept in around Thailand and could give some 5-star places a run for their money. The shower reminded me of business-lounge showers at the airport; super-high water pressure that could knock the mud off a Buffalo's hooves and water temperature to rival a Japanese hot spring. Staff were very friendly and attentive to anything we needed and the wifi was adequate for any digital nomad requiring a stable connection. Overall, it exceeded our expectations and would definitely book here again for any quick jaunts into the hustle and bustle of BKK.…
Compact room but have all needed for comfort stay in the heart of Bangkok. A hundred meters from BTS and Terminal 21. Water pressure very high almost able to massage you. Air con is okey and some parking is available.
