Mode Sathorn Hotel is celebrated for its prime location near the BTS Skytrain, despite being somewhat distant from the city center. The spacious rooms with breathtaking views are a hit among guests, though there are sporadic mentions of maintenance and comfort issues. The hotel's atmosphere, marked by an infinity pool and a sky bar, adds to the overall appeal. While cleanliness generally receives positive comments, there are calls for more rigorous standards. Value perceptions are mixed; the services are sometimes seen as costly, particularly at the rooftop bar. Amenities are well-received, yet changes like the disappearance of a popular bar and the expense of certain offerings have been noted. Service is commended, but not without some reports of delays.

Situated very near to the Skytrain station this is convenient hotel for visiting Bangkok
touristy places. From the top 38th floor the
view is visible for miles.
Rooms are stylish, and of different types-we changed to the Western style room on 35 floor which was more spacious.
Breakfast was superb & served our vegetarian needs. Dinner in the Roof top restaurant was expensive & unfortunately not tasty or satisfactory, despite purchasing
a discount price voucher. Drinks also a bit pricey. The atmosphere however was relaxing.
Took a whole body massage which was an experience.
Reception staff, concierge, porters were all
very friendly & obliging.

A five day stay at Mode Sathorn Hotel was pleasant. The location is well placed for easy access to the train station and a taxi is not too far when the need arise. Making use of the facilities was put to good use.. The pool bar, pool and spa which left me a little blue and bruised. Lots of walking in the vicinity to rack up my 10000 daily steps.. Safe walking at night to and from a couple of locations such as Sky bar... Hotel view attached and cocktails were had.. In abundance :-)

The hotel is in a good area with easy access to the river and places to explore. The rooms are a good size with two double beds and nice facilities. The roof top bar has amazing views and the pool area was clean and a nice place to relax. Staff are friendly and willing to help when required. The room service was ok but better options are available nearby. There is a 7/11 within 5 minutes walk and the pier is also very close to pick up the hop on/off boats. A great base to explore Bangkok 😀

This hotel on the face of it looks lovely but once you stay you see the flaws. Very low lighting in the corridors which helps not seeing the threadbare carpet and chewing gum. Our room had ring marks that were sticky on the surfaces, due to our tiredness on arrival just used antibacterial wipes, which was most probably the better option, as the housekeeping is a little lax as found a used plaster on second to last day behind the complimentary bath products, as used own and hadn’t moved them. The lighting in the room is not only confusing but also not very bright, so it’s hard to see. Couldn’t Fathom how to put individual lights on at night so took phone torch to the toilet. Limited supplies like toilet paper only one roll in room no spare. The bath towels had seen better days as they were becoming threaded at edges. We were even
Limited on hand towels being replaced by two flannels. Can’t wrap your hair up in that!!!! Our dirty cups were not replaced but tea and coffee was.
If two of you there is limited space to put cases without falling over them. I put mine in the hanging area, bearing in mind this is and area to hang clothes the lighting is extremely poor and I had to use a torch to see in my case. The bathroom door did not shut properly either. We had a separate toilet which had a sink in it which lacked soap and a towel or even a place to hang it. There was a fuse box under the step going into the bathroom, which nearly trod on in bare feet.
The swimming pool area looks lovely until you get to the end and look over the wall, where you will find old straws, beer cans and slippers. The wall needs a coat of paint as it looks shabby.
With breakfast you were given a cup of tea no pot like most hotels I’ve stayed and that’s quite a few. Also given no teaspoon. Breakfast there is a good selection. The staff I would say were polite not overly friendly. Considering this is classed as four star I am disappointed.

On the surface, this should be a fine hotel. Check in was chaotic, but that's a one-off. The room was on the 33rd floor, very spacious, great views of Bangkok, and with separate bathroom, shower and loo! Sadly, there was only one of everything to share - 1 bar of soap, 1 shower gel, 1 shampoo, etc etc. The room also felt a little tired. The lighting in the room was inadequate - perhaps that's why they supply a torch.

Breakfast was decent, with plenty of choice.

We didn't use the other hotel facilities, so can't comment on these.

It really wouldn't take much to improve this hotel dramatically, but as it stands, we left feeling that we could have found somewhere much better.

Very chic and beautifully designed hotel but trying to live up to the other prestigious hotels in the city/world and unfortunately fall short. Staff interaction are hit and miss but few portray the "hospitality" and warmth that I have known Thailand for. Don't bother trying the 38th bar or falling into the trap of "check-in promotions". Service is abysmal and extremely overpriced. We waited 30 minutes for 2 cocktails and when asking about them they hadn't even made them. We had reservations for dinner so we couldn't wait and had to cancel our drinks and we couldn't use the vouchers again as we left the next day. Really disappointing and below par for even a 2 star establishment. Breakfast is also underwhelming and stingy is the only word that comes to mind. Staff are lost in service and when you ask for bacon you get one rasher of crispy streaky bacon (even though we asked for soft bacon). There are plenty of other hotels to stay in Bangkok, that are slightly less dear and live up to their reputation, Mode Sathorn unfortunately do not.

We booked a few rooms here for a family trip and we were all unhappy with the condition of our rooms. Mainly: they were dirty. I actually went out and purchased sanitizing wipes shortly after we arrived so I could wipe down all of the surfaces. The furniture had a layer of dust, the bathroom countertop had spots on it that indicated it had clearly not been cleaned. Floors were filthy. There were hairs all over the bathroom floor, and the carpet in the bed area had clearly not been vacuumed in some time.

Cleanliness aside, the roof top deck offered stunning views for sunset drinks. The infinity pool was also a big hit with our young son, as well as the adults after a very hot day of sight-seeing. Location was good. Breakfast buffet was generous and good. If our room had been clean then we would be inclined to stay here again or recommend it to others, but unfortunately we will look for another hotel if we visit again.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Location is great with a BTS within about 50 meters of the hotel which made travelling round Bangkok quite easy. Room was good but could of been a little bit bigger. Breakfast was great and so were the staff. Would I stay here again, yes I would

Good sized room with big bathroom. Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are made up well every day. Plenty of choice at breakfast but at first was difficult to find a cup of tea! Handy location as the Skytrain station is right outside the door. Blue Elephant restaurant and cooking school is just across the road and there are plenty of other places catering for all budgets to eat within a shot walk. If you want to pull up a red plastic chair and eat with the locals, I would recommend Laab Ubon Kontrakran which serves great food and is very popular and less than 10 mins walk away. Great pool area on the 11th floor, no problem finding some where to sit or lay after a busy day sightseeing.
The hotel has 360 views from the rooftop bar, get there before six for happy hour cocktails and watch the sunset with relaxed music vibes.

Liked · My third visit, and I have always enjoyed staying here. The Executive Double corner room has a great view and is quiet and comfortable. (Beware the raised bed platform - dangerous at night) The BTS Surasak station is directly in front and the Sathorn Boat Pier (to IconSiam, Asiatique, Grand Palace, etc is one stop away. The coffee shop downstairs is great for quick bites.

Disliked · The Rooftop restaurant has changed to "high end" dining - and is very very VERY overpriced. The floor used to be unlocked all day to hotel guests, then serving casual food and reasonable drinks at a fun bar in the evening. Now it is locked during the day, the bar is gone, and the prices are outrageous, As a frequent previous guest, this was a HUGE disappointment.

Hi Paul we stayed in this hotel for 6 nights beginning of February. There was no problem with Corona virus in the hotel or in the touristy areas then. The only noticeable thing was in the hotel most of the reception staff wearing masks so could not see faces. Also travelling in skytrain a lot of people were wearing face masks. We were not concerned then but the situation may have changed recently.
