I have travelled and worked in Bangkok for 5 years and never have I been somewhere so overpriced. I have been in more exclusive and expensive places but this is a glorified roadside diner. A basic meal for two with no drinks will cost minimum 2500 baht. A half pint of lager is 150 baht. It is in a prime...

I was not a guest in this hotel buy I feel the need to share my wonderful story! All my money got stolen in a 7/11 closeby. I had no money left for the taxi, no map and my phone was out of battery, so I couldnt use google maps to find my way back to my hotel. I knew...

A good location for transit travelers. Close to the railway station and accessible from the airport. Lots of money changers and food stalls around. Has it's own shopping center too. Rates are economical and makes it ideal as a no frills hotel to stay in Bangkok if you are transiting the city

Just returned to this hotel for one night. Its a great location if you're arriving at the airport and leaving by train. It also has a good restaurant, albeit a bit pricy, plus an excellent breakfast. Admittedly the air con is noisy and the shower not great but overall it does the job.

To say that we enjoyed our 2 days at this hotel would be an understatement. The pictures on the website are are somewhat deceiving. Although located in the centre of Bangkok, the room prices were reasonable, and only if you were just going to use the room to sleep. The hotel is in the Silom Village complex, which consists of...

After many trips to Bangkok, we booked this hotel solely by virtue of it being located close to the Myanmar Embassy. Check-in was efficient and friendly enough, but the rooms are quite old and seriously lack some TLC. It's the sort of hotel that would have been in its prime in the early 80's. The industrial sized air con was...

Awesome room for the price I paid ($25 + taxes / night picked up from Agoda.com). The compound itself comprises of a nice Thai Seafood restaurant (slightly pricey than the avg), a small beer bar with pizzas, burgers and sandwiches well priced. Lot of restaurants, convenience stores around the area also in this hotel is in the gem / jewellery...

The hotel itself is not brand new and it shows, yet it sits right on the side of the Silom village which is excellent for a quiet dinner with live music and some night shopping without having to go more than a few meters. Although it is in a busy part of town, the area where the rooms and the...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
