This hotel was far from what we expected. The deluxe room we had booked was big but very old and dirty. The receptionists could barely speak English and were very antipathetic. The swimming pool area was the hottest gay flirt place of the area...very uncomfortable for non gay guests! However the hotel has a small Spa where you can get...

I booked an economy room from the hotel website in August. I had to stay one night in the hotel in order to get the next flight to Phuket. The room had nearly nothing, since it was very cheap, it was OK with me. During my stay, I placed the NO ENTER sign onto the door. I split my money...

Every year i go to Bangkok at least once a month and always stay at the Pinnacle. Yes the rooms do look like they are in need o f renovation. However i am quite happy with the way they have transformed the reception and restaurant. This is a much overdue transformation, now they need to focus on the rooms. The...

I just checked in today. The first room I was offered, a Deluxe, was absolutely dreadful. That room should rent for 1,000 baht per night, not the 2,050 baht they want for it. I opted to upgrade to a "Pinnacle Room", one of six rooms on the 14th floor that have been touched or updated since the mid 1970's. The...

I always stay here when in Bangkok as it offers excellent value for money. I always take a deluxe room. I was pleased to see this time that renovations and smartening up have now ben carried out and that a small swimming pool has been added to the roof-top spa. A very comfortable stay.

You get what you pay for, I say. I wanted a cheaper place than I usually stay in - and a friend recommended it. I booked through internet - $50 AUD a night, very cheap. I was a little worried about its location until I got there - central enough, minutes from two metro stations, still a little bit of...

Clean and comfortable, well run hotel. Excellent breakfast - good choice for all nationalities. 5 mniute walk from underground station and 25 minute walk to sky train and Patpong nightlife. Night bazaar is a must do and is a short walk away across the main road - use the foot bridge! Lumpinee Park is also a short walk away and...

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
