My first time here and its mind blowing. Yesterday went to the Government run Gems and Jewellery store and wow last day and it had 30% off (last day) and no tax. Visited the amazing Siam Shopping Centre and you can even barter there amongst all the store holders as they are all vying for your money. Off to Chatuchak...

The Narai Hotel in the Silom area of Bangkok is a nice hotel. It is a tourist hotel and large tour groups frequent this hotel. The location is good as it is within a five to ten minute walk of the metro line (Chong Nonsi or Sala Daeng). The room rate including buffet breakfast was 1,500 Thai Baht equivalent to...

Everything you need is provided. Yes, carpet should be changed (eventually), A/C is noisy, but you get a wonderful space in a heart of Bangkok. Everything is close. Use a bus instead of unmetered taxi. Common sense should prevail. Hotel is wonderful for the price you pay. I've got it for a AU$ 40 with breakfast which is fantastic. All...

We stayed here for three days during a first trip to Bangkok. The staff was attentive, the hotel very clean, and the breakfasts truly excellent. We made use of the pool after daily excursions and found it very refreshing. The rooms were comfortable and the beds firm enough for our taste. All in all, a good choice as a base...

Narai Hotel was a great central location for exploring Bangkok. It is reasonably priced with a good breakfast service for 300 baht unless you take the inclusive breakfast option. It's only downfall was the noise from other guests presumably on large tour groups who were extremely loud when arriving and leaving their rooms at very late and early hours.

We stayed her in the deluxe room, very nice hotel and attentive staff. Little confused with the bathroom lay out, mirror too far to the side to have a shave, the room was nice and good views. The pool was excellent and big shout out out to the pool / bar attendant, worked hard making sure customers needed everything, the...

We spent four nights here, our first experience of Thailand. The room was spacious with a good bathroom and comfortable beds. There is an excellent choice of eating places nearby, but the hotel has a buffet at 500bht or 800bht and and excellent small Italian style restaurant which serves great pizzas etc at a very reasonable price. A bonus is...

We stayed at the Narai for two nights, just after Songkran. I will state right now that we would not normally consider this type of hotel for our budget, flashpacker travelling style, but scored an excellent deal on a 12th floor Deluxe room at half the normal rate. And we're very glad we did. The Narai is in a very...

Hotel Narai is right in the heart of town and very conveniently located in close proximity to some of the best breakfast street food areas in and around street Silom Soi 20 off Silom Road. The hotel itself needs refurbishment. The a/c control does not work very well in the room. Either it is too cold or too warm. Wardrobe...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
