I stayed at this hotel when it first opened in the mid 1980's and it was outstanding in all respects - it was my favourite hotel in Bangkok. But not any more! We booked a stay in this hotel for early May this year, hoping to recapture some of that nostalgia from almost 40 years ago, but were very disappointed. The riverside location and grandeur were still great and the memories came flooding back. After checking in though, things went downhill. Our allocated room on the 10th floor, was not cleaned properly, with several long black hairs on the bathroom floor and a used bar of soap from the previous occupants left in the bathroom too. At 0130 AM we had to call reception to inform them that the room air-conditioning was so noisy we could not sleep and so we had to move to another room (at 0130AM). The staff told us that because it was late, we did not need to move all of our personal things at that time and we could get everything from the old room, in the morning. The new room also had problems and several times during the night, we were woken by a loud bang in the room, which at first, we thought was somebody trying to get into the room. The water hose in the bathroom was leaking water all over the floor around the toilet and the shower gel dispenser front cover was broken too and simply fell off when touched. Something dug into my foot as I was walking over the small rug in the room and I discovered there were discarded (empty) edible sunflower seeds on the carpet, obviously enjoyed by previous guests, but not cleaned during the room prep. In the morning we went back to retrieve the remaining personal belongings from the room we had moved from during the night - only to discover that the room had already been cleaned and prepared for the next guests - with no sign of our personal belongings (including my expensive prescription reading glasses). The Duty Front Office Manger at reception was unable to ascertain why, or even WHO had cleaned the room and could not find out where our personal belongings were, or indeed, who had moved them. It seems that the housekeeping supervisor did not even know that the room had been cleaned (or by who). Although we were due to check out - we requested to be allowed to go back to both the rooms we had stayed in and do a thorough check ourselves as my reading glasses especially, were very important and necessary (not to mention expensive), but after we crawled around on our hands and knees in both rooms, looking under the beds and in every cupboard and drawer, we could not find our missing things. The Duty Manager even asked me if I was sure I had these items when I checked in the previous day! We checked out of the hotel and I said we would return later in the day before heading to the airport to see if our belongings had turned up, however when we returned to check later in the afternoon, we were told that our things had NOT been found, but if they were found at a later date, the hotel would contact us. Halfway to the airport, we received a phone call to say our things had now been found and apparently, were sat behind the reception desk all the time since early morning - but none of the staff (including the FO Manager) knew about this - which seems to be a huge breakdown in staff communication. However, because we had a flight to catch we could not return to the hotel, so my much needed reading glasses had to be posted on to me the following day. None of these unpleasant experiences would have occurred if our original allocated room was of a satisfactory standard, without needing a room change at 0130AM. A written letter was sent to the General Manager of the hotel a few days later, to at least give the hotel a reasonable chance to explain about our unpleasant experiences. The letter was sent registered mail and was signed for on delivery at the hotel, so we know it arrived - however, almost 4 weeks later, there has been no acknowledgement of the letter or a reply, to address our stated concerns.

The worst front desk staff. We are from Russia. Credit cards don't work. Spent a week in this hotel. The hotel is empty, maybe 40% of the rooms are occupied, there are 2-4 tables for breakfast. The most unpleasant thing is that the price is cheaper at booking, at the reception they sell a room for 1000 baht more. Worst front desk staff I have ever met. In the afternoon 25.05.22 and when we check in 19.05.22 Manager Rude, ignored. I do not recommend this hotel. P.s. when we checked out, there was a very polite man at the reception 26.05.22. 6 am The other staff is good (in the restaurant, at the entrance, cleaning) Room is very good and big, everything clean Massage near the hotel the best (red words)

This hotel offered everything. We had a shuttle pick up waiting for us at airport and prompt Covid testing. Great room, wonderful meals and excellent river shuttle service. The grounds were lovely and the location was close to restaurants, historical sites and shopping.

It's a good hotel, they give u a boat to nearest train station, your personal boat , if u follow their time, their staff Maria is very helpful, she talks good English and will explain you, everything whatever u ask about shopping , sight seeing, she helped us in most humble manner, she did whatever best she could to make our stay memorable..treated us like family,, explained about the local culture tradition and festival..breakfast is very limited which needs improvement, air conditioner could have been better..

Stayed 2 nights - very bad Internett in the room - promised to be fixed next day - did not happened - they tried without any luck! Had to sit in reception for Internett connection. Why stay in 4 star hotel when they can not offer sufficient Internett in 2021 - friendly staff does not help! Stay away - never again!

Although this is a 3 star hotel, the quality of service was much higher. hotel breakfast was acceptable. It had a large terrace where you could sit by the river for breakfast. The rooms were clean and the view of our room was the Chao Phraya River, which was beautiful both at night and during the day. The hotel staff was very helpful and good. Great live music that was played at night in the hotel cafe. The singer's voice was like angels. The distance from the hotel to the city center, although not very close, but there were always a lot of tuk tuk and taxis around the hotel. The hotel had a swimming pool in the courtyard where it was cool to swim early in the morning. There was an asia tique shopping center near the hotel, which was about a 10-minute walk away.
