We stayed here for 5 night in March 2008. The hotel is close to the Subway, Train Station and Nite life of various types. The rooms were clean, large and comfortable and no road noise. Breakfast was included, the variety and quality of the food was excellant and the overall service of all hotel staff could only be described as...

I was pleasantly suprised by the Tai Pan. The room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful (and spoke good English). The hotel is in a good area not far from the main hustle and bustle of Bangkok. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a future stay in the city and perhaps, in particular, people...

The friendly staff made me feel welcome as soon as i stepped out of the taxi. I arrived at 7 in the morning and had to wait for about 20 mins before my room was ready, which gave me time to sip the free welcome-drink and read the morning edition of Bangkok Post. Lobby area is a bit small and...

Good hotel. A bit far from the center. The neighbourhood is the old "hot" neighbourhood. Be advised! Skytrain and subway quite close (5 min). The rooms are clean and large but the bathroom is a bit old but clean. the swimming pool is very cold. There is a new Thai massage Spa on the 6th floor, a bit expensive but...

My husband and I stayed at the Tai Pan Hotel for three nights in February 2007. It is a very clean, comfortable, and quiet hotel. It is located in a nice part of the city, on a quiet street just a block or two off Sukhumvit Road. It was easy to walk to great restaurants and just across the street...

We was at Tai-Pan for 3 nights and will return if we're in Bangkok. The value for price is very good, the location is very good too, the rooms are spacious and clean, the carpent should be changed. The staff is friendly and helpfull, breakfast is very good. About the wired high-speed internet connection I was disappointed, quite expensive for...

The website I booked this hotel through was very misleading. The web company was branded at least three different ways - bkk-hotels, smartstays, and asiawebdirect. The page I booked it on clearly said breakfast and taxes included. I also made a note in the booking that I required an extra bed, which was reflected in the confirmation email. When I...

The location: Steps away from a major entertainment area, yet very quiet and residential. The hotel is tucked away down a little driveway, so fairly secluded (although this makes it a bit hard to spot for some taxi drivers). There is a large construction site closeby, but I didn't suffer any noise. Big plus: the Skytrain (Asok) and Metro (Sukhumvit)...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It is an old hotel with little charm, but makes up for this in comfort and convenience. The breakfast buffet was amazing! Tons of different foods to try. The room was large and comfortable, It is very well situated near the Sky Train and Metro. REstaurants and bars in walking distance. IT...

We spent the last night of our trip at the Tai Pan. We arrived in Bangkok from Ko Samui to find that we did not have reservations. So, we booked the Tai Pan through the airport travel desk. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find a nice, very clean hotel. The location was great. Close to good shopping,...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
