I spent 5 nights at Evergreen Laurel Hotel Bangkok and honestly think it is the best bang for my buck so far in terms of hotel stays. The junior suite had a sitting room, small kitchen, microwave, kettle, fridge, walk-in wardrobe, dressing table-corner, shower cubicle, 2 sinks, a bathtub overlooking the city and if you're muslim, even a place to do your ceremonial washing. The breakfast daily had a great bean coffee machine, waffles and bacon, a selection of eggs styles (overeasy, scrambled etc), cheese and charcuterie section as well as a variety of muesli and cereal selections, breads and pastries, Chinese-style porridge and even breakfast fried rice. I didn't use the rest of the amenities but I think the breakfast is already worth the stay here. The only downside is that the electricity circuits are a bit old and the air-conditioning was a tad loud. Otherwise, it has an old world-like charm which I prefer over the modern-styled hotels. The staff are also very courteous and were kind to help me investigate when I thought I had lost my watch. I will definitely book this hotel the next time I'm back in Bangkok!…
Stayed in delux suite. Very large and comfy room. Staff are well trained, helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was great. Room service meal was nice. Walking distance to BTS sky train. The hotel free yuk yuk service to nearby BTS and Metro stations was not available during our stay. Like most tourist service in the world, they are still trying to recover from COVID pandemic. This hotel is highly recommended.
Nice 5 star hotel with very economic prices in low season located near Lumphini Park and business district; linked to Eva Air. Check in no problem (arranged late check out for good rate), room card key system, 9th floor room large, comfortable bed, quiet, bay windows, big catering hot water jug, good room service menu, tv has enough channels, great desk for working on, good air con then separate shower and bath. Can eat in at the Laurel Cafe downstairs 1st/ground floor all day good value menu, which also serves a very good breakfast inc. custom egg dishes, muesli, very good coffee, lots of fruit and baked items. Also, Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor that does dim sum lunchtime and a la carte in the evening. Lounge bar on ground floor too, with a long happy hour 2 for 1, makes for economic drink prices. Location is good, in the business district, near Lumphini Park, then nearby is the pleasant tree lined Convent Road which includes Bangkok Hospital and St. Joseph’s Convent/School with many eateries and cafe/bars. If you turn right at the end into Silom Road there is a large and good shopping centre which includes a good English and other foreign language bookshop.…
Great hotel in a lively neighbourhood, walking distance to clubs&bars area. Room was spacious with great views of a park. Pool and sauna were nice and clean. 5-star treatment of guests; very helpful staff. Nice food and atmosphere in the restaurant.
A four star resort that has seen a little ware but makes up for it in service, size and location. I reserved the superior corner suite and was pleasantly surprised upon entering at the massive size of the room. This room allowed for me to work independently from the sleeping area with a separate front room area. There was a bar as well as a kitchenette in the front of the room. Upon entering the bedroom you went through a large closet dressing area and into a spacious bathroom with a large shower and corner tub with large picture windows overlooking the city. The ware was seen in little areas such as carpet etc but not a deterrent from relaxation. Each time I entered the lobby I was greeted by staff who after 24 hours knew my room number and name. They would quickly get me a taxi, answer questions or seat me for breakfast. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room and had multiple choices from your traditional Thai breakfast to American breakfast. Each meal was served with fruit, bread and juice. Food was plentiful and tasted decent, it wasn’t mouth watering but a great way to start the day. The location of the hotel allowed for you to easily walk to some areas, get a free tuk tuk to the train stations, or most times a taxi was about 120bhat to anywhere within 30 minutes. It was 220 bhat for a taxi to the Don Mueng train station to catch my overnight train to Chiang Mai. Overall I was very happy with my accommodations and the service provided. They did a decent job dealing with the requirements for covid testing and quarantine, though I do not understand why I needed to change rooms for quarantine. Upon quarantining they brought you to your room, you were not given a key but required to stay there, in a much smaller quaint room, where food was delivered until your test results came back. This process took 6-8 hours each time.…
Excellent stay! Very friendly staff everywhere. Due to covid not many guests. Nice room. The only negativ thing was the air conditioning that worked so so, a bit to warm during night. Small pool, sun ends around 1pm. We had the pool for ourselves. Nice small gym with everything. Breakfast very rich, you order what you want. Good coffee!
We loved our 3 nites in room 1504, a junior suite. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were all beautiful. Breakfast fine. Hotel is certainly centrally located to lots of tourist sites and interesting neighborhoods. While we highly recommend the hotel, we suggest you get a room other than ours. Bathroom lights inexplicably went out and stayed out for 20-30 minutes.at a time If you were naked in the bathtub or had just finished on the lou on the other side of the room from your bedroom, this could present quite a problem getting back safely. My wife and I worked things out by always leaving the door open. The friends we came to join said their lights also went out, but only for a few minutes at a time. Still, if you approach this problem with good humor, it needn't spoil your trip and it hasn't stopped me from recommending this hotel.…
The hotel isn’t as described. The room is dirty and it smells strongly of cigarettes. The reception is under renovation and the check-in greeting process was abrupt and unhelpful. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
Service, breakfast, room, location very good. Certainly these are requisites that inspire me to goIve it a 5. Close to BTS Chong nonsupport , food carts and walking distance to Lumphini Park, (about 20 moIns)
We loved loved loved this hotel. Our suite was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a tub and a separate shower. The front desk workers were pleasant and very helpful. I can't say enough good about our wonderful experience. The hotel is in walking distance of the metro yet the hotel provides free drop off service to the metro stations.
