I got a special deal for 1 night and it was 9000 THB (which is not cheap). The carpet was smelly. The room was nicely decorated but the sheets and pillow cases were used up and I think they need to change it. I don't understand why people give this a 6 starred hotel.

We stayed in the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok for 5 nights over Christmas. We booked a garden suite as we knew they had been recently renovated. Certainly not cheap at nearly £2000 per night following the deterioration in sterling, but an amazing space to spend time in. The room was like a split level New York apartment done out very...

It's our second stay in MOBK. Hotel has excellent location: riverside, close to Si Lom Rd, good connection to the airport ( 35 min drive ). Beautiful interior - in common areas and the room itself. Fantastic service - on every level. Excellent restaurants. World famous Spa. It's a very expensive hotel - esp on Thai/Bangkok conditions but it's worth...

The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok had always been on the hit list of hotels to visit, especially being one of the founding hotels in the chain. We were picked up from the hotel promptly and from that moment life was easy, especially after travelling for over 18 hours. With in-room checkin, a beautiful Suite refreshing beverages and a brilliant view of...

I have to be in Bangkok for business reasons every year, and my wife always joins me. This year was our tenth visit. We usually stay 2-3 weeks, so with so many visits for that many days over so many years, we've seen this hotel at its best and its worst. First, then, let me say that there is no...

My wife, her sister and I had a wonderful stay. We always loved to return after our daily excursions. We thought the hotel was very clean never seemed overly crowded. View of river from our room was fantastic.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional! My partner and I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok for a few nights and absolutely loved our time here. Accommodations are beautiful, service is impeccable and food is delicious. We ate several meals by the pool, the Verandah and Terrace Rim Nam - all delicious! The bamboo bar has a great atmosphere with...

The Oriental never fails to be special but with all the transformations that have been done the hotel now looks stunning. Particularly the Authors lounge for afternoon tea and the new shops in that area. The grounds have been cut back to show off the wonderful original hotel which can be admired from the Ciao restaurant - where the food...

Impeccable. From the moment we arrived, first class service. Face towels, a welcome drink, an easy check in, guided to our beautiful room and every possible amenity thought of and executed beautifully. Rooms with river views are best if possible. Products in the bathroom are just the best, flowers everywhere. Incredible restaurants, a fantastic jazz bar and cigar room. Shops....

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
