I give this hotel 5 out 5 stars. This hotel is great in multiple categories. The room was great and clean. Everything worked great A/C, hot water, and TV. The service was great too, and I mean every faucet. Doormen were awesome and gave directions, when needed. Front desk were good too, and fast. Housekeeping was excellent too. The piano man was so friendly. Multiple restaurants on property. Streetfood restaurant was on of the best restaurants I visited in Bangkok. I highly recommend, and service was great too. The Starbucks was really good too, and barista w/ blond in hair was awesome. 365 restaurant was really good, and beautiful view. The room had nice view too, we were on 16th floor. The price was unbelievable for all you got. You literally didn’t not have to leave the property. Restaurants, shopping, and lounging all excellent. That being said, we were next to Chinatown and boat taxi. This is simply my best hotel experience ever. I dont really understand any low ratings given.…
The location and the views are the best bits, and they are fantastic! However, the tables and the food choices could be improved a lot in the revolving restaurant. They are not living up to their potential. It was like eating in a very expensive but basic high street cafe but with views over Bangkok. The food was basic although the chips were great. I was expecting Thai food and there wasn't any in the whole hotel, apart from at breakfast, which was average at best. The man playing the piano in the afternoon was our highlight. We loved him. Staff were friendly, although we had to wait a while to be attended as they worked behind the desk answering phones and not talking to us. The potential of this hotel is right up there. Its a shame they are not living up to it. Rooms are comfy, views nice. We felt untrusted when they made us wait for our room to be checked before we left.…
I am writing this review as a warning. I read so many great views and the hotel has 4 stars (not sure who gives the stars). I stayed in 2 rooms, I was upgraded after 2 nights because my second reservation was with the hotel. I would describe the first room as old and dingy. I have stayed at nicer 2 star hotels. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in, in 30 years. The small upper pad was not enough to shield from the metal in the old mattress. The second room had a better bed but still felt 40 years old...The location is fantastic right in the heart of China town... The staff were amazingly great.
This hotel located nearby China town and you can walk a few minute to enjoy street food at China Town, easy for transportation by boat, MRT station or taxi. Overall of hotel comfortable suit for friends , family. One more, don't Miss Noodle at Lobby it's delicious and not expensive that recommend.
I went here with my family to enjoy late lunch in the top floor rotating restaurant. We've been there several times in the past and the view on Chayophraya river is just stunning. My experience was just spoiled by the ground floor security who let's the local guests pass through the temperature check without any attention. He then enjoy to harass obvious foreigners to return them to the thermometer and proceed the temperature check repeatedly. No local guest (my Thai girlfriend and her mother) has to undergo this ''special treatment'' I will never return to this hotel or it's restaurant.
The property is at a very good location, right in China Town. Lots of vendors and markets close by. The rooms are very dated and not as clean as the other hotels we stayed at. The best part of this hotel is the staff. They are very helpful and friendly always smiling and asking if there is anything they can do for you. I would not recommend this property.
The Grand China Hotel is a fantastic hotel in Bangkok. Located in the Chinatown area, it is close to everything. Plenty of eating spots, close to the river where you can travel to many locations. The staff were fantastic and the room we had was massive with a awesome view of Bangkok. Buffet breakfast was excellent and just had a great stay there. Highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel was cheap. Rooms were clean. The breakfast was good there was heaps to pick from, you just had to ask at the grill area as you order it. It was in the heart of China town depending on what you want to do in Bangkok the location may or may not appeal. Catching a Grab or Tuktuk was easy enough out the front. There were great deals at shops close by on electronic products. There is a Starbucks on the bottom floor. Lots of food options in the area. The hotel could do with some genera improvements as it is run down in a number of areas. However it is cheap to stay here.
Worse every year. Very nice ladies at the reception, the rest of the service very unpleasant, even showing their reluctance to perform duties. Rooms average, with a musty smell. Breakfast is average. Perfect location. Very expensive and not very clean restaurant on the 25th floor. In previous years, the service was at a higher level than today.
We had a 5 day stay, great base for seeing the country side, Room good value for money, clean and no issues. Revolving restaurant poor service and food selection Prices a bit high for beers etc, paying Australian prices.
