Beef station: Lamb chops was the best! Seafood on ice wasn’t really fresh, except Oysters, Japanese stations Sashimi was nice. Dessert was also delicious as well. We would definitely going back again. Hope next time seafood are fresh and better. Superb service and staff 🙏🏻
First impression is the Hotel was in a great location, lobby is classy and staff service is good. Since I booked Test and Go package, the hotel staff were kind to bring my food to me. I waited slightly more than 8 hours for my test results to return which I had to call to check if there was any update and after 30mins hotel called to share the good news. I guess you could understand that having to isolate in the room for 8 hours, I expected more. The rooms really need a full refurbishment given the prices are paying for. Old and mouldy smell, curtains are bit faulty, no body shampoo provided and the hotel said there was a push soap by the wall which makes me wonder if I was in an incorrect room category, that was quickly resolved when they brought the amenities to me. In summary, I wish that the hotel refurbish their rooms to reflect truly the room photos on website. Thanks.…
We stayed at the hotel for two nights, mostly as a base to visit the Ploen Chit/Central Area. Check-in and -out was fine as was concierge. The room was nice and spacious, very clean and well-appointed. Its high-quality built and design is holding up but the place is in need of a refresh, especially when compared to the IC we stayed at in Phuket (admittedly the latter is a basically new hotel, and pandemic measures have hit Thailand’s hotel industry hard). We can definitely recommend staying here but would also suggest looking at the sister IHG hotel (a Holiday Inn) next door as it seems to have had a recent refresh and benefits from the same great location at half the price.
When I was researching Test & Go, I could only find one older review so wanted to provide and updated. Completely painless. The hotel had staff where they should be to greet, and I was quickly in the car. A drive through test at Samitivej (one of the nicest hospitals in Bangkok) and then on the way to hotel. I will say to first time visitors, it is a long drive from the airport to the hospital, and the driver chose "the low roads", aka toll free. They will be dark, but fine. He spoke nearly zero English, but he had his appointed rounds and it was not a problem. After the hospital it is only 10 minutes or so to the hotel. Check in was again painless even though I was arriving at 2 am. I was given the listing of benefits as a Spire Ambassador, most of which I could not use being locked down until test results. I had hoped for an upgrade to a suite, but that did not happen. I did see on a social media group for IHG that another person got upgraded to a suite for the same night as Spire Ambassador, so I guess he travels more than me. I truly never count on an upgrade at InterContinental and usually book Hilton or Marriott if an upgrade is important for the stay. All the staff start to finish were very friendly and professional. They all were had the Test & Go process down, which is an accomplishment given that it feels like the rules change every few days. As I have a home in Bangkok, I have not had reason to stay in a hotel in Bangkok in years, but this was a very comfortable stay and if I have to do it again for some reason, the InterContinental would certainly be top of the list.…
I choose this hotel to celebrate my birthday. And this time, I was very impressed with every single detail. From the reservation by Khun Fai. We were luckily upgraded to Premier Suite. Spacious room with a beautiful panorama view. Surprised with a cute birthday cake, room set up and lovely gifts from Khun Fai and Khun Fairy. Nice bathroom and a working desk zone with a really nice view. Afternoon Tea came with variety of choices but what I'm most impressed is the service by Khun Daranee, serving me my favorite Ginger Ale with ice and lemon slices without any request. Evening cocktail drink is considered good. Spa InterCon is another part that I was really fond of. With detailed service and understand the needs of customers, the Spa Manager, Khun Nok, has well taken care of my pampering journey, offering the most beautiful room with spectacular view of Bangkok. Apart from the magical hands of the therapist Khun Ooy, I really enjoyed the relaxation area of course. Breakfast during weekend was well organized even packed. Beef steak and my favorite menu is stir-fried basil with minced pork were superb. The breakfast offered different tastes from Thai to Arabic. Happily, this hotel is still one of my top choices and will definitely come back again.…
