Staying at Loog Choob is like visiting a distant relative who has a guest room in her lovely Bangkok apartment. Rooms are elegant and perfectly maintained. A bit off the beaten path but taxis are easy and cheap. Great market nearby for late night street food for fresh food. A wonderful roof top deck as well.

We are a family of 4 and stayed for 3 nights at Loog Choob in the family suite last week. It's a great place located in an authentic Bangkok neighborhood, and is close to all main tourist attractions. Family suite is on the top floor and comes with a huge living/breakfast area. Although this is a common area we had... More

I have nothing but good things to say about Loog Choob! My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights during May--when the city is hot enough to singe the eyebrows off your face! Loog Choob was a very welcoming respite from the city and the heat. With only 5 rooms, spread over 5 floors, you feel like you're staying... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Loog Choob for 3 nights in April 2015. Communication beforehand was good, and the taxi driver easily followed the map provided. Location was central, close to great food markets, and less than 100THB ($4 AUD) metered taxi to Khao San Road and the temples (can negotiate 100THB in tuktuk), maybe slightly more at night.... We chose this place after reading glowing reviews and were not disappointed! I had emailed Sukanya regarding bookings and she was very prompt with replies and also sent link for map for the homestay, useful when coming by taxi from airport. We reached the homestay in about half hr from DMK airport due to express highway and location of homestay!... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at Loog Choob for 3 nights in February. We found it be a very welcoming homestay with clean and modern rooms. The owners of the homestay are lovely, friendly and helpful and offered us many tips on Bangkok. Although the room was advertised as not including breakfast, there was bread/pastries available in the mornings, which... More

We had rooms on both the fourth and fifth floor - the fifth floor is definitely nicer, with it's lounge area and patio along with roof access. The breakfast bar is also better stocked and more comfortable to hang out around. The area is very pretty, and all the little comforts of home are available. Fourth floor rooms have a... More

Staying in Dusit

Neighbourhood Profile
Dusit
When wandering around the Dusit Palace grounds, you'd almost forget you're still in a Southeast-Asian city. The Renaissance-style buildings and leafy gardens wouldn't be out of place in an European capital, and the serenity here is in stark contrast with the chaotic city life outside of its complex walls. Dusit is one of Bangkok's oldest districts, and while the rest of Bangkok is modernising at a rapid pace, Dusit seems to have stood the test of time. Come here to find family businesses in traditional shophouses, small-scale local markets and streets unfazed by modern city life.
