Joy is an absolutely wonderful host and makes sure that she does everything in her power to ensure a good stay. I have been in and out of Bangkok for the last few months and always return here. Luggage storage is good, dorms are standard and clean, location is conveniently next to BTS and it has a homey atmosphere where... More

I spent four nights in a double private room at the end of May. The room was clean and the air con worked well. The ground floor served as a parlor - a nice spot to chat with other travelers. The hostel is in a Bangkok suburb and is a five minute walk from the sky train. 7-11 and an... More

I love animals and this hostel has one resident cat that just welcomed me right in. She showed me the way to my room, pawed the door while I was fussing with the key, and jumped right into my bed as soon as I've opened the door. Joy is very helpful, she will give you travel and shopping advise. She... More

Joy's hostel felt more like being at a friends place! We ended up staying a whole week. She is so welcoming and easy going that you feel right at home.Plus Joy knows everything there is to know about Bangkok: where to eat, shop, which museums, which stop and how much the ticket costs! Additionally,as this is her home, she takes really good care of... More

U Baan is a decent place to stay in Bangkok. It is fairly clean and the social atmosphere is good. The rooms are of average size but the beds are clean and comfortable and the rooms come with an attached bathroom. Joy, the owner is a friendly lady and will help you in planning out your day in Bangkok. Beware... More

The room and Guesthouse itself really is no thrills but it's good budget accommodation. The owner is helpful and friendly. It's a little bit out the way of the centre but it's right next to a sky train stop so getting around is pretty easy. Walls are thin but it wasn't a noisy Guesthouse so it was fine

Was nice to stay for a couple of nights at u bann hostel in Bangkok. I have to say that as my first trip in Asia shocked me the fact that the shower and toilet are literaly in the same spot. The room was clean but the bed a little bit hard. Best thing to do was going to the... More

The Wi-Fi in this hospital is absolutely fantastic. The beds are quite comfortable. The host, Joy is absolutely the nicest person you can meet. She's very helpful and will call anyone for you, from bus stations to the Myanmar consulate. She also hosted a free dinner for New Year's Eve and everyone in the hostel mingled. She remembered everyone's name,... More

U-Baan Guesthouse is notably cheaper than the others, and for a good reason - it's in a more local/residential part of Bangkok. Surrounding restaurants are also considerably more local (in price and offerings) - a plus, in my opinion. But that doesn't mean it isn't accessible. It's only a very short walk (5 minutes max.) to Wongwian Yai BTS Skytrain... More

The place is well located close to a metro station. My flight came really late, but the Joy waited for me and she was really good at replying all my messages on facebook. The atmosphere at the guesthouse was great, and generally this is due to Joy who even organized a dinner with many of the people staying in the... More
