SO/ Bangkok garners praise for its excellent value, with many travelers appreciating the package deals, although a few find the drinks expensive. The hotel's amenities, including themed rooms and a rooftop bar, contribute to an atmosphere of chic luxury, despite occasional feedback on outdated room decor and music choices.
The prime location is a hit among guests for its convenience to attractions, and the service receives accolades for staff attentiveness. While the rooms are generally celebrated for their space and views, cleanliness is well-regarded, with only minor suggestions for refreshes.

4.5 star out of 5. Apologies So/ Bangkok, I really wanted to give you a full 5 star rating, but there are some minor details that still needs to be improved.
The great things: 1. Being an Accor Diamond member, I received a 2 level/tier upgrade to a Lofty Suite (Wood Element) which was fantastic! 2. The connecting room to the suite for my two kids was also arranged without requesting. 3. Great pre-checking contact and arrangement from the team 2 weeks before date of stay 4. Next to Fitness First Platinum which operates 24hrs 5. 5 mins walk away to Lumphini MRT station. 6. The beautiful and super large rooms. 7. Convenient to plenty of good eats on both ends of price scale. 8. Fantastic concierge staff
Minor details needs to be improved: 1. Was not informed earlier that the lobby was under renovation and hence a slight inconvenience 2. My biggest gripe: staff’s a Club lounge seems always occupied and usually understaff especially during the evening drinks. Seems to lack the warmth and friendliness from some of my usual hotels in the region. I always have to walk to the front and ask for the breakfast or drinks menu. However, kudos to JJ & Nohm who always try to do their best. 3. Lifts are a disaster. It’s slow, dark and rather unpredictable during my stay. Lucky we have the staff stationed there with a big smile to make it better 4. Our huge lofty suite does not have a full body mirror which was rather surprising. Our kids’s room has one. 5. Housekeeping: toiletries were not refilled during each service
Would love to be back again next timr

Dear Rommel l, SO wasdee krub from SO/ Bangkok! Thank you for taking the time in sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed many aspects of our hotel and it's our sincere pleasure to welcome our valued Accor Diamond members, and glad that you enjoyed the SO Lofty suite upgrade, as well as the connecting room which we pre-assigned for your kids. We're especially pleased to learn that our pre-arrival communication, spacious rooms and convenience in location made your stay more enjoyable. Moreover, our Club Signature team, particularly SO Noom and SO JJ will be truly grateful to receive your kind mention of them. We sincerely appreciate your valuable feedback as well, and we apologize for the inconveniences caused by the renovation works and lifts delay. We will be sure to continue working on minimizing these disruptions as we understand how this plays a huge part in our guests overall experience. Furthermore, we're sorry to hear that our staff service fell short of your expectations, as well as our Housekeeping team's oversight which occured. Your feedback will certainly be addressed to our team, to ensure we provide attentive service at all times, and to be more detailed when servicing our guest rooms. Glad that you would still consider returning to us in the future, as we would very much like for the opportunity to serve you better! Kind regards, Nathapong Laorvong General Manager

I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a room with a park view. During the day, you can enjoy the Bangkok skyline with park view through the floor-to-ceiling windows. In addition to being great for taking photos, the swimming pool is quite deep and long. There is an MRT station opposite the hotel, which is quite convenient. The overall accommodation experience is good, but of course there is room for improvement, which will increase the chance of revisiting. The breakfast variety is quite rich, and there is also freshly cut coconut water. However, compared with other restaurants in the same price range, the hot food on the bar is relatively weak. The water pressure in the shower in the room is very small. Fortunately, the water pressure in the shower head is strong to make up for it. The water temperature in the bathtub is not high enough. Even if it is turned on the hottest, it is only warm water. It is a pity that the bathtub in the room is such a big one. Some of the floor tiles in the room can already show traces of age, and some socket sockets are loose. It would be better if more attention is paid to maintenance.

The SO/Bangkok hotel was a superb hotel to base ourselves for a 4 day stopover in Bangkok. The hotel is an oasis in the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and we thoroughly enjoyed returning to the hotel at the end of each day after seeing the sights.
We were staying at the hotel as part of a Luxury Escapes package booking which was great value as it gave us a room upgrade with access to the fantastic Signature Club lounge on the 25th floor. This club was fantastic with great views, superb staff service, free afternoon snacks and cocktails and a range of other complimentary services such as laundry items. The SO/Comfy room we stayed in was excellent with great views over Lumphini Park and very good facilities with a large bath, supersized shower with rain shower head, coffee pod machine and complimentary mini bar drinks with fresh water. The roof top bar on the 29th floor was also a great experience with nice food and very well priced drinks. As part of the Luxury Escapes package we also purchased airport transfer services to provide a carefree holiday experience and it worked very well.
The staff throughout the hotel were exemplary and just the most friendly and professional staff.
The hotel is well located with the large Lumphini park directly across the road and easy access to train stations on both the MRT Underground line and the BTS Skytrain line. Both stations were within an easy 5 to 10 minute walk from the hotel. The MRT line provided rapid and very cheap access to the main Bangkok tour highlights of Wat Pho, The Grand Palace and Wat Arun amongst others. The train only cost 30 Baht ($1.20 AUST) each way and within 10 minutes we were at the beautiful new Sanam Chai MRT Station and only a 3 minute walk to Wat Pho temple. This was a very painless way to explore the city whilst avoiding the crazy traffic and high pressure tactics of taxis and tuk tuk vendors. The BTS Skytrain line provided easy access to the River services and also to other tourist locations such as Jim Thompson house and a large number of shopping malls.
We would strongly recommend the SO/Bangkok hotel as a base for any stay in Thailand.

Beautiful So/ Bangkok Hotel offers a stunning stay with breathtaking views, a stylish elements-themed design, and excellent amenities. Located across from Bangkok’s Central Park, the hotel provides a serene yet convenient setting in the heart of the city.
The infinity pool and Jacuzzi were standout features, though the Jacuzzi could have been a bit warmer for optimal relaxation. Early check in option was great after a long day of traveling. Breakfast was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options served in a beautifully designed dining area. The staff was kind, attentive, and always ready to assist, making the check-in and check out process seamless. A non alcoholic welcome drink upon arrival was super refreshing and a cute pastry surprise and non alcoholic lemon grass drink for my birthday was a thoughtful touch. The staff provided helpful recommendations on things to do and how to navigate the city, including easy access to nearby train stations.
The Cassette Bar on the top floor was a highlight, offering a stylish ambiance and stunning city views. Another convenient feature was the option to use the hotel’s showers after checkout, which was especially appreciated on a hot day before traveling. While the surrounding area is quite congested due to traffic, the hotel remains easily accessible, and the coffee shop on the ground floor served excellent beverages.
Overall, Beautiful SO/ Bangkok Hotel delivers a fantastic experience with top-tier service, stylish design, and great amenities, making it a highly recommended stay for those visiting Bangkok.

This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at regardless of price range. Everything was impeccable, from the moment I got out of the taxi to the moment I left to the airport. I was greeted at reception by Aurra, who was super friendly and offered me a complimentary upgrade. I had a room on the "Earth" level which faced Lumpini Park, a fantastic view. My room was spacious, had an extremely comfortable king sized bed, soaking tub & separate shower, and ample closet space. The lighting options were great depending on your mood. True blackout shades and no weird small LED lights that stay on in the room if you know what I mean.
The overall feel of the hotel is sleek, modern, and sexy but not over the top. If W hotel had a luxury brand this would be it. The hotel amenities are awesome. The gym was on a mini Equinox level if familiar with that brand. If you go to the gym back home and know what you are doing you are really going to appreciate working out here, which looks over the pool. There is both a dry sauna and steam room in the locker room area, both working really well. The pool overlooks Lumpini Park and has dedicated service for lunch & cocktails. The breakfast in the morning might be the most impressible breakfast buffet I have ever experienced in my travels. It was absolutely incredible and way over the top. All of the food was delicious and the coffee was on point.
The service at this hotel is on par or even better than any Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, or Waldorf I have stayed in. Truly impeccable. They run such a tight ship at this hotel and it is quite impressive. They employees are genuinely friendly and aim to please.
The best part about this hotel is the location, directly across from Lumpini Park. There is not much green space in Bangkok so to be able to take a morning or sunset jog in the park was perfect. It was also very close to all major sights and nightlife.
If you are looking for both luxury and value, stay here. You can spend twice as much at the Ritz or similar for the same product and likely in a more stuffy environment. The guests at SO hotel seemed to be a professional, younger, diverse, and open minded crowd. LGBT friendly.
This is the only hotel I will stay when I go to Bangkok in the future.

Room : Got wood element this time which was much cozier than others, in my opinion, as metal was too bright and water was too dark for me. Haven’t tried earth and not keen too due to a lot of human drawings in the room (kids love it, I assume.)
Got pre-arrival greeting by K. Noom after calling the hotel to ask some questions regarding my new and old Accor accounts. His answer was crystal clear and things were very well-prepared upon arrival.
Actually, this stay was greater than a few times ago, not only by K. Noom but also all of his Club signature team, plus K. Kittipat who took care of my Sunday brunch with friends at Red oven.
Foods : Since I already stayed here several times, I found out that the foods at the hotel were all delish and sometimes safer than dining out. Especially for Accor plus members, there’s discount worth its membership fees. So, it made my meals at the hotel both safer and saver, both a la carte and buffet.
Breakfast : At club signature was great in all aspects, food quality, ambience and services. Missing coconut though. : At Red oven was a bit busy with much more variety of foods. Just one bite of everything, I would be full till evening for sure.
Housekeepers : She’s very attentive and so observant. As a Thai, I was craving for some spicy foods after a half year away from home which couldn’t be eaten anywhere else but my room. When she saw I was eating on the table, she just gave me one more box of facial tissue without asking, to ease me from walking in & out the restroom to get it.
Chocolab : Hot chocolate drink and its chocolate are not to be missed.
Front desk : It was a real “Front” desk this time due to the lobby renovation, all staffs were very attentive and helpful. I actually found it’s warmer vibes than passing by the front desk on the upper floor.
BTW, bring staff name tag back, please. It’d be much easier for the guest to remember the staffs’ names. Even I am Thai, it sometimes hard to spell all their names. Therefore, I’m sorry if I miss anyone’s name here. Please know that ton of thanks to you, all.

The location is good but it doesn’t like to cross many streets, there’s no access to the subway, wherever you go, you’ll have to pull your bags into the hotel through many red lights. Her sister was very hospitable, unfortunately forgetting her name, just coming to work, asking if she was going to the nearby The Sukhothai Hotel, but she responded well that she was just coming to work, looking at check-in, and when it was time to wait for the room, pulled into the livescore's livescore before she returned, and her sister recalled that she had a room, and brought her stuff up. The up-room is a beautifully-reviewed garden hole, and the rooms are metal elements, which are comfortable, some of the heads are boring. The menu in the room is full, with lots of power, complimentary minibars, very comfortable pillows, good soft pillows, fresh coffee, great bathtubs, good flow. Quick check-out, time to visit Highso, great views, the pool is quite cold because of the building, compared to Lumpini View, Atas is more convenient to navigate, Atas Lumpini is a thermal pool.

We booked SO/ Comfy and we got an upgrade to a SO SUITE, 1 King Bed, Panoramic Park or City View, 2 Themed Designs, Club Signature Benefits.
- How are the rooms? Room is Big! Earth design in blue. It's old now and in need of some TLC, at least a big cleaning. There are old limescale stains and spots, so a daily cleaning is not enough to remove those. AC is easy to manage. I do love the view over Lumpini park and Bangkok skyline. Shower is big enough for I guess 10 people.
- What was good and what was bad?
Good: Breakfast is big with a lot of choices. Staff is great. Rooftop bar was crowded so we didn't test it, but looks popular. Been there last time at this hotel but can't remember pros and cons from that visit...
Bad: The property is old and sometime worn out. Roof in lounge have some leaks and have a bucket on floor to catch the waterdrops. Carpets around the hotel have old spots and the hotel is in need of a renovation.
The lounge is good. They have a lot of choices of food and good wines.
Welcome amenities in room some candy and a welcome letter. Welcome drinks at poolbar were softdrinks, wine and some cocktails from a list.
- Value for $ or Vouchers? 800 Bath Would you return? Yes I will. I do like this hotel, and the breakfast. And I do love the lounge. I will be back next time in Bangkok.

Wow. From check in to check out we were treated like VIPs by everyone we encountered at S/O. The location ticked all our boxes, the room was very modern and we enjoyed staying in the upgraded 25th floor with large room, sleek bath and sweeping view over the park. Club signature access with the all day refreshments and nightly cocktails with canapés was so worth the upgrade. The staff at S/O were so warm and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. In particular I would like to commend the following staff who were exemplary throughout our stay and deserve to be recognised. Kittipat who is the assistant wine and dine director accommodated us when there was a private function at the Red Oven. He went out of his way to offer an alternative dining experience and provided us one on one amazing service. Kie, Gift, KT and LK were also outstanding making our stay so rewarding. I cannot thank everyone enough who made us feel so welcome. We are definitely returning March 2025

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel between 10th November until 14th November 2024. The hotel is located at the heart of BKK, Lumphini District. It is walking distance about 5 minutes to One Bangkok shopping center which opened on 25th October 2024.
We were impressed the way they welcomes us from main entrance with a big smile from the concierge lady (I wish I could remember her name, she is very tall lady). She took us up to level 9 - lobby floor for checking in. They offered us the signature Thai welcome drinks while we were waiting for check-in. We've got upgraded room #2009, it had a great city view and I can see the lovely Lumphini park which is opposite the hotel, we walked through there a few times for exercise. The only thing we feel disappointed about this corner room was the noise come from the next construction building next to the hotel.
Hotel pool and jacuzzi spa is on level 10 and offers a spectacular city view, it is great for some instagram photos. Unfortunately, the temperature for the spa and swimming pool were very cold, I wish it was warmer to use, they also have very nice gym there for everyone to use.
We booked this accommodation package with Luxury Escapes Australia and we had 2 hours drinks at Chocolab or the bar at level 9. They will give you the LE Drinks menu, it was ok and it offers limited selection of cocktails, mocktails, wines and spirits. We had a lovely conversation with hotel executive chef there, it would be great if the bartender staff could speak English more especially for those who come there on their own.
Red oven restaurant is located on 7th floor and they offer very nice selection of breakfast and dinner buffer, all staff are very welcoming and friendly. We will come back to this hotel in the future.
