The hotel is in a good location which is central and a short walk from Khao San Road. First impressions of the hotel are not so good, it is situated down a small alleyway but on entering the hotel it gets better. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has good security, you need a pass to enter the...

Chose this residence hotel because of its proximity to sites we wanted to see. Staff was nice but hotel is not clean. Air conditioning was weak, as was the WiFi. Breakfast next door was good. Steep flight of stairs - no ground floor rooms whatsoever.

This hotel was a nice quiet getaway in a fairly central area, a 10 minute walk to Khao San Road. There's a McDonalds on the corner, and a few street food stalls tucked in the back alley next to the hotel. Lots of cats around. Hotel itself felt very quiet, secure and comfortable. Room had everything we needed - it...

When you get there the first impression is not good at all. The street where the hotel is ugly but quiet. The furniture is rather old. However it was clean and reasonable in price. The room was very comfortable and large The lady at the front desk is very helpful if you need something. Important : no lift. Price and...

The staff is very professional. It is very comfortable and spacious. It is near the historic center and 3 blocks from the pier to go through channels. I got what they offered on the website of booking.com . They contacted a taxi cab service to the airport for me. It is located in a safe area. A very silent hotel....

we stayed here on our first night in Bangkok, we arrived at 1 am and although the reception was closed they communicated with us well before our stay and ensured that someone was there to open up and take us to our room. The room was large with a separate living area with couch and large bathroom and clean. Location...

We have just left here, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a triple guest room, beds are very uncomfortable and the toilet wasn't very clean, had a disgusting toilet brush in there which looked like it hadn't been changed for years with feces and dirty tissue paper all over which left an awful smell in the...

Stayed here for two nights. Room was very spacious and had facilities that we needed- good wifi, air con, well serviced. Great quiet location 5 minute walk from Khao San road and opposite Democracy monument. Breakfast was okay- there are 6 different choices. Only small negative was the water pressure of the shower wasn't great but generally a pleasant stay.

We had 2 stays either side of a 2 week stay in Bangkok. Both were good value for money in a convenient part of the city, within walking distance of Kao San Road & the Grand Palace, the staff were helpful in arranging transport and tours with a good breakfast menu. A great base for exploring Bangkok.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
