I generally like to compliment the hotel and the staff I stay in. Usually, no matter the overall quality of a hotel, the staff tries to make a positive impression and be gracious and of service. Not so at The Studio Asoke in Bangkok. Not even close. The owner--or the operator-- of the hotel--not sure which--seems to relish making enemies of her guests. For instance, the staff promises one price per night in the morning. But by evening she contradicts them, upping the rate. And despite explaining this to her, she refuses to budge. Maybe it's the pandemic that has her so on edge. I don't know. But how she expects to run a successful establishment while alienating her guests is beyond me. So if you enjoy being treated well by the staff--you'll want to stay clear of this joint. Regrettably, my stay there ended on a very sour note and I wouldn't want to wish that experience on any traveler to Bangkok.…
· I wouldn't suggest anyone to live there.First they make you give 1 thousand baht for "security" and then they accuse you for something you did not do to take the money you gave for deposit.Except from that the manager was extremely unrespectful and mean.We changed 3 rooms cause of the cockroaches that were on our beds.
I think the title says it all. I wasn't looking for anything fancy for a pre flight stopover, but this was awful. I squashed 6 cockroaches during my one night stay and when I got up I found a couple had shared my bed too. Disgusting. No window in room either or hot water. Don't reward this standard of accommodation with your money.
I knew at 1200 baht this place would not be fancy. Usually I check the AC filters, as many have not been cleaned in ages, and my respiratory system is sensitive to pollution. This one had not been cleaned in a year or more. It is scary. Bathroom sink does not have any water. They put me in a room right on the main road, even though I requested a quiet room, in advance. A lot of Thai hotel owners, are world famous for skimping on mattresses. This one feels like a $60 special. It is dreadful. Do not stay here, unless you absolutely cannot find another room, and the street is your only other alternative. The rooms are beyond basic. One good thing about this hotel is the location. Great section of soi 11. Alot of action, food, etc.
I have stayed here numerous times and keep coming back. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are cleaned daily and match the price range. Great location and convenient situated close to the BTS, supermarket, river boat, and many restaurants and bars
