Hotel's Favourite
We stayed 5 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment. The room is perfectly appointed, we were 2 adults and 2 teens, so having kitchen and living room plus little balcony was great. Also has 2 and a half bathrooms. The breakfast was very nice and delivered to the room each morning at the time we request. Plenty of food and they accommodated our dietary requests. The room and breakfast is a very good value. What made our stay is the staff. They were incredibly helpful and friendly. We felt so comfortable and welcomed. Their kindness toward us was so appreciated. They really went above and beyond for every request we made.

All the staff are very helpful and the hotel is clean and close to shopping malls, MRT station and the latest Jodd Fairs night market. The Somerset hotel is probably one of the best hotel we have stayed. To give you context, we usually stay at JW Marriott and have even stay at a Four Season. While it is not doesn’t have acres of land, a beach, or pricey chandeliers, the hotel is incredibly clean, modern, and new which is hard to get in the city. The rooms actually look like the pictures. The infinity pool is so beautiful and never busy. Somehow the pool is positioned so it is shaded most of the day. If there is a negative it is that it is a bit noisy from the traffic during rush hour. The workout room is new and has a dozen of the newest machines. We paid a few extra bucks more and got the two bedroom suite which was so beautiful. It has a washer and dryer, full size kitchen. Your money still goes pretty far in Thailand. But what really made this hotel the best was the staff. They really love their job. Not everyone spoke English but they immediately found someone who could. The attitude of a staff was that your happiness was their top priority so even when they told us we had to wear sneakers to work out, we felt special. One group that did an exceptional job was the concierge services: Phil and Jed. They help us build our itinerary and took care of our needs. One example was when we held a grab taxi ride but the app sent the driver to the wrong spot. The driver couldn’t speak English so Jed personally escorted us half a block so that we could find him. There is no way they would do that at the Four Seasons. (With regards to Taxis, it is very hard to find taxis in Bangkok. Everyone relies on Grab app which is the equivalent of Uber. It is easier if you upload a credit card but you can also pay with cash. The only time we found useful to use a taxi was from the airport to the hotel Other than that, we found Grab to be cheaper than taxis and tuktuks. Just make sure that you get a local SIM card (300 bhats/week) so that you can use the app.) The location of the hotel is very good. There’s a big mall next-door which has a pretty good food court (not as good as terminal 21, but good for a couple of meals). There is also an amazing night market, Jodd Fair, which is small but consider one of the best in the city. Like one of the reviewer‘s said, they do “check“ in your room when you check out which is unheard of for nice hotels, but again the staff do it so politely that it didn’t bother us. Just leave a little extra time at the end. All these things make Somerset an amazing five star hotel especially for the price. We loved it so much that we’re booked the same room for our layover back to the US on Friday.…

I have stayed 14 days in Somerset Rama 9 Bangkok for business purpose. Friendly staffs in Somerset had helped me to settle down with peace of mind, sort out daily issues like ordering takeaway and greet me as friend everyday. Facilities are clean, I enjoyed the gym and swimming pool the most. Washing machine in apartment was so convenient, especially the quick 15 mins wash! It was a great experience staying in this serviced apartment, I won’t hesitate to recommend for short or long stay!
