Read a review of a couple that had stayed there that persuaded us to want to go here, but it was a true disappointment. We are on a budget, hence why we were staying here, but it costs us $10 to get there in a taxi from the centre. It is down a sketchy alleyway that is hard to find... More

My partner and I were shocked at the tiny little space offered by this hotel. It was cheap which was good but you definitely get what you pay for. We read the reviews before hand and knew it would be small but wow, small on a whole new level. I guess it is Bangkok city though! Good for a one... More

I really wouldn't recommend this place. Our room SMELLED really bad (the smell came out of the toilet drain) The door to the toilet didn't close because it was half broken. On the internet site is written that there is a breakfast, well there isn't. The plugs (exactly 2 in the 'hole' maybe 6mq) are hanging on 2 meters height... More

The hostel is pretty well located, like 40 min walking from Kao San, super close to a subway station and walking distance (only a few blocks) from China Town. Rooms are small but clean, and with A/C (all what you need to be comfortable in Bangkok). If you are looking for party or meeting other people, maybe this is not... More

I really enjoyed my stay here in the Chilli. We stayed for a total of 8 nights. We have been travelling thailand for 2 months and it was great place to stay a week to save money. Yes the rooms are small but if you're looking for somewhere just to sleep and shower, it's perfect. In fact for 2 days... More

Very small rooms and uncomfortable bed (the springs were literally a pain in the ...), but for us it was a fair place to sleep for a night before traveling ahead by train. The building itself is a minimalistic block of concrete, which gave a fun vibe. Warm shower and air conditioning was all we needed, but I wouldn't recommend... More

It's located close to Hua Lomphong train station, it's cheap, has air conditioner and private bathroom. The only 4 good things about this place. Around 8-10min walking from train station, but difficult to find the street - which is also dark and dirty. Barely saw a foreigner around, hard to find somebody speaking English in the area (even hostel staff... More

I just love private room hostels for bunk bed prices. It's a bit empty and a bit hidden away, but on the flip side it's nice and quiet and everything else is just right. Small rooms, nice, clean. And the interior of the hostel is tight and grey. The receptionist is polite, yet speaks little English. Very good alternative to... More

Yes the top sheet is a towel but so what. Even with AC a top sheet is pointless. The room was incredibly clean with a comfortable bed and good shower and faultless WiFi. Good location to all the tourist attractions. The fact that it is not on a main road adds to the experience. We always felt safe and taxi... More

Despite some reviews I found the Chilli to be fine. Small rooms but perfectly formed. Clean, stylish with friendly and helpful staff. Close to Mrt line and river. Not far from the old town hostel when you're trying to find it.

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
