I was passing through Bangkok on my way to Cambodia. My friend took me to this hotel as we were staying for just two nights. Though located in centre of China Town, one can stay if passing through the city. The pier is just five minutes walk and the place surrounded by lots of eateries and also street shops. Staff at...

Very cheap, very clean. Hotel staff seems very flexible on things. Since the hotel very close to the shopping area and major markets, I would recommend business travellers to hop in this cheap hotel. If the hotel can have smoking and non smoking rooms it would add more comfort to the hotel. I would say it's the best for the...

Have been using this hotel for 26 years now and nothing much has changed... What it does have most in it's favour is it's location and cost. Close to the ornate gate to Chinatown at 572 Yaowarat Rd near Wat Traimit and Hualamphong railway station, it is the perfect place as a base to explore the fantastic array of food...

We stayed here for one day (during the day time) while we did shopping in Chinatown. It was ideal that way; cheap and very close to shops. The staff were very friendly too. We loved the Maldivian restaurant on the 5th floor - the food was awesome.

Old building, old rooms, aircon too noisy (i had to turn it off). Breakfast was not included for 720 bath. You really can find something better around Hualaphong with that price. Good only for chinese new year!

We stayed here as a young couple for just 1 night the first day we landed in Bangkok. The hotel is situated in the heart of china town and a 10 minute walk from Hua Lamphong train station, we chose this hotel for its location to the train station as we were heading to Lao on the sleeper train on...

my husband and I arrived here via the train from the airport, is about 5 block away from the railway station and near by some temples, the Golden Buddha is only 10 minute walk away. Anyway, we arrived very late that night, with the constant heat and chaos of this city we end up staying here for 800bath a night...

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
