The staff were lovely and very friendly. Breakfast was nice - tea/ coffee fresh fruits toast and eggs & bacon. It was hard to find as it's tucked down an alley way. The entrance is lovely, filled with ferns making it feel like your in a rainforest. The room was standard size. Bed was comfy.. The only negative is the...

Quiet budget hotel in a small street a few minutes walk from Khao San Rd and Rambutree Village. I was happy with the quality for the price and a small breakfast was included. The staff were friendly. Good hotel for those on a budget.

Quietly hidden away, Sourire hotel provided a lovely experience for us in Bangkok. Close to koh san road and all the temples, this place comes hugely recommended. Lovely breakfast and staff. Rooms are spacious, clean and stylish. Would love to come back.

Great little hotel. Would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Bangkok. The location is great, right by Monument and around a 20-25min walk from the Grand Palace. Lots of good restaurant options nearby and several 7-elevens. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and able to help you with tips of where to go and how to get places....

We stayed just two nights in Bangkok and can certainly recommend this hotel for its welcome, comfort, cleanliness and convenience. It is located near Democracy Monument so reasonably close to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Khao San Road, the Chao Phraya River and a good selection of restaurants. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed, excellent WiFi....

Lovely small hotel situated in the heart of the historic district. Central yet quiet. Rooms clean and excellent value for money. Breakfast tasty, especially the coffee. Lovely staff and great service. We only had a short weekend, and I was able to book all activities and transport through the hotel. Will definitely recommend and stay there again next time I...

Excellent position, very kind staff, room basic but clean, good breakfast - specialty: eggs! Free water bottles are included in the price. Overall: very good value for money, and the central location close to the Democracy Monument makes it very convenient.

We mostly enjoyed our stay; the hotel was clean and the breakfast pretty good and generous. The staff were generally quite nice.  A minus was that the room had a window (not see-through) facing the hallway, which lit up the room during the night.  Also, we arrived at the check-in time, but were told the room hadn't been cleaned yet...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
