Ive stayed at Sam sen sam place a few times and its a good option and the owners are ultra friendly and helpful. The rooms are getting a bit grubby now and the shared bathroom facilities are a bit dirty as well - the toilets have problem flushing. I would still recommend this as a budget option with good vibes.

We stayed here for three nights. Staff were lovely and helpful, room was clean and great location - was a short work to Khao San road and the water taxis. Only complaint is our room shared a wall with the kitchen and we were woken VERY early every morning to loud banging and food prep. Pay off is the room...

Me and a friend stayed at Sam Sen Sam place for 3 nights. We payed 400 bht for a taxi from the airport. On arriving we saw a sign saying they pick you up for 150 bht each. The people at reception were very helpful and were happy to help us plan routes to restaurants we wanted to visit and...

We stayed at Sam Sen Sam for one night at the end of our vacation. It was exactly what we were hoping for - a clean and quiet place to rest after walking around the busy city of Bangkok all day. This guesthouse is located about a 5-10 walk from Khao San Road on a nice mellow street. Our room...

The hostel was very good, the rooms were small, but with everything you need for a short stay. The bathroom and toilets were also very clean. Our room was with a fan only, nevertheless we could sleep normally. There is an included breakfast, which is perfect for a start of the day. The staff has helped us a lot: showed...

My partner and I stayed at Sam Sen Sam for 2 nights in February. We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff were friendly and helpful and the location was great. Walking distance to khao San rd and soi rambutri for great places to eat/shop/drink and a backpacker/party vibe but far enough away to be quiet. Facilities were all clean...

We stayed in a ground floor room with shared bathroom. The room was small but clean and we always managed to get a warm shower. Breakfast was Ok though with some options you have to pay for tea or coffee. The guesthouse is on a nice quiet street but within walking distance to khao san and transport links. Wifi was...

We booked a room and paid a deposit 1 month in advance for a room with fan and shared bathroom : night rate 590bht. When we arrived, they tried to make us pay 400 bht more than the remaining amount and they had changed the amount on the invoice! Fortunately, I had a receipt that clearly indicated they were wrong....

The first reason I chose Sam Sen Sam was because of the location during the Loy Krathong Festival and when I saw that the guesthouse has one of the highest reviews on TripAdvisor, I didn't hesitate to email them. And when I talked to them thru email, I immediately know the reason why. They are easy to deal with and...

Sam Sen Sam Place was one of the best places we stayed in SE Asia in our 2.5 months there. The staff were always super friendly and caring, there was security 24/7 so we always felt safe and it was in a central location. It's within walking distance to the ferries, bus stops and Khao San Rd. The place itself...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
