Was a perfect place for a base, obviously a full range of hotels in the city to suit each budget, but we decided we wanted to be near Khao San Road and the main sightseeing attractions. Small room with ensure shower/wet room, bit strange with a slide patio door to it but did the job. Also had air-con. Room was... More

I've just tried checking in and had a really unpleasant experience with Jiab Supervisor at reception, I am used to much cheaper places in the area providing free wifi, yet here it's charged at fairly expensive rates on top of the room rate. I did all the usual stuff, handed my passport over, signed in etc. with the other staff... More

Sleep Withinn Hotel is well located for the Khao San area being a block off the famous Khao San Road (and trust me, you do NOT want to stay ON KSR if you want to sleep at all). Rambuttri Road, where Sleep Withinn is located is also a big bar/resturant/busy area that stays up late (like 3AM late) but it's... More

Rooms - The room looked very good even though it was just small. I wasn’t able to sleep much though. Maybe I’m just not accustomed to sleeping directly on a spring bed (no foam mattress). Plus the pillows don’t provide any support since they’re so thin. Amenities - Swimming pool - No free wifi. You’d have to pay for it... More

This hotel is perfect for travelers wanting to see the real backpacking area of Bangkok. Its just off the Khaosan Rd, so you get a good nights sleep with the benefits of being near one of the best streets in Bangkok. Less than a two minute walk to the heart of everything. I agree with the posting on November 16th... my husband and I stayed here 3 nights and it was definitely one night too many. It is in a great location with plenty of food options. Cheap massages and tuk tuks everywhere. But music for three full nights until 3am is unacceptable. If you are looking to party and stay up... More

I spent a night in the Sleep Within with my partner just a couple of nights ago. We came in at about 5:30 and was just given the cold shoulder and the key to our room with out being told which floor or any other information. The room was clean but then again it would be easy to keep such... More

I stayed in this hotel for a week while in Thailand last year. It's in a good location (on the road around the corner from Khao San) and the prices are reasonable. I enjoyed my stay here. If you need a place to be in the middle of the action, while giving you some level of comfort this is a good place. Rooms have fridges, very small glass walled bathrooms ( could mean intimacy problems) tv, ac and nice interiors. But be aware that the noise made of a mixture of online bands, electro house, taxi, tuk-tuk,... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
