Maybe living in the UK safety is overdone. For example it is illegal to have a hair dryer in the bathroom because of fear of electrocution. Imagine my surprise when I checked into my room 320 at Nanatai Mansion in Bangkok to find that I would be showering with a badly fitted electric water heater right beside the shower rose....

It's a real good deal there. Staff are nice. All rooms are huges and cleans . Price are very attractives. Sport room and swimming pool are an advantage at this place. Place is quiet in the end of a buzzy street. Many restaurants and bars in this street. The restaurant is good too and the service in rooms is not...

We have stayed at Nanatai many times over the past 7 years and unfortunately even after the "upgrade" to the rooms the cleanliness of the bathrooms is the worse i have ever seen them.. mouldy shower curtains are surely an easy fix? At 1400 bht per night (with breakfast) not only has the price gone up but the aircon is...

I had deluxe room, room was spacious and had nice appearance. King size bed was comfortable. Air conditioning in the room was too noisy and powerful for me and I got sick of this unfortunately. Swimming pool too small and needs some improvements because of missing couple of tiles. Cleanliness not as good as it should be because a lot...

Booked this hotel on a well known travel site just before New Year as the hotel I had been in before and wanted was already filled up. It was considerably cheaper and I had noticed it in the neighborhood so thought I would chance it. Mistake. I arrived late at night and was exhausted but not too tired to notice...

This is very much a default option for tourists or long-term stay guests. There are much nicer places to stay (but you'll pay considerably more) and the location is, at the right/wrong end of the city's notorious Soi Nana (Soi 4), something that you'll appreciate for its proximity to the "scene" at the end of the Soi if that's what...

Booked by walking in at reception where the rate quoted was slightly lower than online. Reception was friendly asking me whether the room was ok, whether I needed anything for my stay. Chose a room at the back overlooking the mostly abandoned tobacco monopoly factory complex and the canal thinking it would be quietest which it was except for the...

We stayed at the monthly here, you pay for 30 days and you must give a deposit of 10k baht too. For this you get no breakfast or water, but you do get wifi and maid service. Of course the swimming pool and free tuktuk service. There is a restaurant and beauty salon for ladies. The rooms are huge with...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
