Stayed here our first few nights of 5 week holiday in Southeast Asia. Overall, it was comfortable, good breakfast, but bar across the street was pretty loud late into the night. It's right on night market street as well.

this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off

No, it is not! Bangkok is quite! Temples, different food, kind people, very different costumes, poor infrastructure, but very funny! Take care with what you eat and drink! And you shall go to the islands! Beautiful places!

I'm not sure if you can book directly, but there is a Travel agency on the left before you enter the lobby. I would recommend booking everything yourself, as all third parties will charge more/fees.
